Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
Are we even still trying to work in the SLS? It seems that it was left for dead quite a few posts ago.

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
The Audi is horrific, it doesn't have near the grip as other cars (or as it says) and you are correct on the SLS it will not work. You are always better removing something that won't work than sticking a subpar car in. The McLaren was somewhat close on Catalunya but doesn't have any balls with the old build. I'll try to run it if you'd like.
The '07 Civic, Megane, and maybe the SEAT need a slight reduction in performance. Just a tad bit too quick.
The Mazda's wouldn't work when we did early testing and that's why they were removed. The Mustang and the Camaro are too powerful. The '08 Subaru is a piece of crap.

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
Worm, may I ask if you tested both RX8s? I too tried the standard car, and it was bad, Volvo bad. The R3 I tried for the first time the other night and it is much better.
Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
Built up an '07 Civic and an RX-8 R3 for comparisons sake. Both cars have similar speed, handling, and accel stats. The RX-8 has 12 more hp than the Civic and was 2 mph slower down the hangar straight despite the aero being turned all the way down.
5 laps in the RX-8 and did a 2:00.8
First flying lap in the '07 Civic I do a 1:59.6 and quit.

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
Going to focus on the GT spec rather than the TCC spec as not sure if it is worth mixing up even more knowing with the way we have it now it is pretty much balanced.
Tuning on these GT spec cars varies, I know the first two handle better because I spent a lot more time working on them to suit my driving style, the Audi I am still an amateur with.
Mercedes SLS GT3: 1.51.8
McLaren MP4-12C GT3: 1.51.6
Audi R8 LMS: 1.52.0

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
^ How do those times compare to GT2 cars, such as Corvette, BMW, Porsche?
Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
So the McLaren has no adjustable brakes and no wheel upgrades?
Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
I'd imagine Race Brakes would be on the upgrades list... but I am wrong alot.
Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
I ran the car's to spec as stated on the first page, with the 15% reduction during a testing lobby on my own, however I do feel they all need Race brakes in the upgrade list.TG Wormburner wrote:So the McLaren has no adjustable brakes and no wheel upgrades?
Mercedes I just ran to last years N8 spec.
And Mikey I am not sure as havn't tried any of the GT2 cars, going to throw the Vette, Ford and Viper round shortly, most likely in the morning after iv had a few hours sleep, not needed into work till around 4 so have some time to put some laps in with these.

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
I'll test tonight/tomorrow. Need to be running in the 49's for myself. I was running low 49's in a couple cars for ALMS at VM and the builds are pretty much the same. Only the wheels are different.
The Lamborghini is better with 15% power handicap and restrictor removed. It's equal with quite a few cars that way and has better race pace. Without the restrictor removed it has zero race pace and gets mauled. I would 100% move it.
EDIT: 49.8 in the McLaren and it's a little loose. I think it's okay but it may be a little fast, not absolutely sure. I'd nix the Audi and SLS.

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
So, just for clarity because I am offshore.
Audi is too heavy to fit in and it a bit of a pig.
Mercedes seems to work at base power with grip, but just a bit too slow compared to the rest.
McLaren with build noted in OP is a little too quick.

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
Haha so all 3 cars are pretty much out of the pack, one being too fast, another too slow, and the third would still be lugging it off the line.
Personally i'd say keep the Audi and the McLaren if we can find a way to keep them competitive.

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
Hmmm tempted to not include them now we have tested.
Richy what you think its a month to race really want to get car list released so not having 3 cars is not a biggy.

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
I don't know if it's too fast. I ran it and it seemed okay but if I started messing with the tune and such it could possibly be too fast. My time was only a few tenths slower than my qualifying time and with a power handicap I can't see a ghost to know if gearing adjustments would make a difference, if a different line is better, etc. I do know those few tenths are in turn on on their own. I screwed it up every single time.
Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
Maybe test up until Friday, then we can make a decision Duncan.
How about shaving some of the Tyre Width off of the McLaren? I'll have a look at a few testing times I know of and see how it compares.

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
for the MP4, i hit a 1:50.732 with the build on page 1 (plus Race Brakes), and a Default tune! now to test some of the GTE cars in my garage

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
As a comparison to DarthMario pole in ALMS on Silverstone is 1:58.4 I believe by Takumi or Amarth. There was around a tenth between them, Takumi was in the BMW and Amarth in the Lamborghini with the build I posted. Koenigsegg was in a BMW Z4 and Bob Dixon in a Panoz Esperante. All cars were very even.
Remember Darth was in a default tune while we practiced. I believe the McLaren is just too quick. May want to take the speed on the hangar straight as well and note it.

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
I'm not a stupidly fast guy but I did set a very low 1:50 in a Pi 765 Porsche a few months back? So I guess its balanced towards current GTE cars?LMR DarthMario wrote:for the MP4, i hit a 1:50.732 with the build on page 1 (plus Race Brakes), and a Default tune! now to test some of the GTE cars in my garage

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
Is there no way of dropping the other 2 cars, but keeping the McLaren with a more balanced build?

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
Can we run times for MP4-12C with less wheel width and get a build with slower times please?
Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
[Censored], I think I ran the wrong tune on Silverstone in that Honda for the time.
