I had a good race, no thanks to bandit . I didn't mind the random grid but I can see why people don't like it, I think the best idea is to do the same as the TCC with the out lap to get in postion.

But, if we are going to change the start procedure, I do not want option C at all. Option C can possibly be way too time consuming if someone in there doesn't have very steady fingers to get the car lined up. And laggy mics are also an issue. I would say do the same start procedure as BG McLaren and Porsche Supercup have: Line them up by lobby points. It makes qualifying and the first race just that much more important to do well in.
+1
It worked great with the McLaren cup and helps speed up the event.
A Thank You, to the guys running this and all the others that step up help out yesterday.

After colliding with someone coming back on track, I had 100% damage to engine, transmission, aero ......... I could have walked the track quicker than driving it.
I'm just taking some clips from it, so send me an FR and I'll gift it over to you.
Re: European GT championship. General discussion.
I could name a few things that made last night the long night it was.
a) new marshals helping out, it does take a few meetings to find a flow.
b) Having way too many lobbies for Qualifying, there was 9 a lobby it should be about 11-13. The more lobby hosts you have the more time wasted talking to each one to find out the times for that lobby.
c) The updating of rule during a event should never take place and this happened last night. If theres a mistake go with whats there until you sort it after the meeting.
d) Google Docs held Warspite back to be fair plus I think we missed CQR Aero's experience last night but like the staff say its ran by the 'blue' guys with us racers helping them, I would always leave one guy with the docs and the other to sort out hosts and another to do the forums.
e) It didnt help that we went passed our start times, for Qualifying we started it nearly ten minutes late, we should have gone at 7.30 bang on.
f) The sign in thread HAS to be clear I feel it wasn't as the cut off is 6pm not 7pm like the GTs and ISCC.
Personally the racing is great the cars are close although my Aston is a dog at standing starts. I know from my experience that the next round will be alot smoother as I said last night please go with a new lobby for race two it just works well in terms of calming drivers down and let them rest but another plus is it lets the host get back anyone that lagged out in race 1.

Re: European GT championship. General discussion.
Updating the Livetiming and scores whilst I have an hour now before work, and again during my lunch break later on, I have all scores apart from Lobby E so please bare with whilst sorting them.
Whatever is on the Livetiming just ignore until I have posted to confirm final scores, Lagouts ect means I have to adjust everyone's positions accordingly.
Thank you for you patience.

I'll agree about the Aston. Hell of a pig to get off the line. Throttle control has to be so precise between spinning up and getting tagged from behind or bogging down and getting tagged from behind. I'm sure whoever was behind me was having to take evasive action every time.
That aside, through the Maggots, Beckets, Chapel complex and down the Hanger Strait I had so much speed advantage, probably 5-10mph through the complex.
Re: European GT championship. General discussion.
I drove that Aston, I think it is an amazing car, nail the apex and you can get out the corner faster than almost ANYTHING, however it is also the least forgiving car of all, and more of a pig to tune than the McLaren.

Re: European GT championship. General discussion.
I loaded the wrong tune for Race 2. Big mistake!!
I got the tune from Deftone just before race lobbies opened, so I only did 1 lap in it. Used my own tune for Race 1. Accidently loaded Deftone's tune for Race 2. Lots of oversteer! His tune is a good tune, but it wasn't to my liking. Was so unconsistent in it. From a mid 50 to a high 49 to a high 50, then a low 50. Doing a mid 51 the lap after that and then a high 49 again. It was a bit crazy, so I apologize to everyone who was behind me for being a danger on track.
- Don't change/edit the rules thread!! It was still changed once qualifying finished.
- On a less serious note, then at least edit the Abruzzi in the car list. Doesn't really make sense saying that you can't add a car 1 day before the race, but you can still edit the rules once qualifying finished.
- Why a standing start? GT cars are not build for standing starts. I can't think of any real life GT and sportscar series that uses a standing start. Also, some cars get a huge advantage with a standing start, Porsche and Ferrari for example.
- No random grid for Race 2. Either use Race 1 finish order or Race 1 finish order reversed.
- No set amount of laps was given in the race thread and series calendar thread. It should have been stated at the launch.
I'm only suggesting these things because the (community) organisers are asking for it. Wouldn't have said it otherwise, because I'm not a fan of changing rules once the series already started.

Re: European GT championship. General discussion.
Cheers Thom.
Standing starts were how the series founder wanted it, myself and Steven were highly considering another format but because at the time we took it on it only had 40/50 drivers, we felt best not to take all the power away from him to make him feel pushed out.
Rules I am not sure why it was edited an hour before, I know what was changed and that is because I asked him to which was the lap number as we completely forgot to update it initially, which was for 5 outlaps.
Standing start I agree isn't perfect but that is how he wanted it, knowing we will now have to change the format it will most likely be parade lap and grid or lobby reset and 1 lap race to order.
The total laps depend on the evening, 40 mins per 2 races means we have to work out peoples averages before hand, and can only do that from what we see from the public, last night I chose to lower the count from 58 to 40 to try and return some of the time back to the drivers who have been waiting to start.
Once again I apologise it wasn't to standards predicted, and I promise you I/we are doing EVERYTHING to make sure every detail is revised ready for the next week.

Tough, you can't!

Wouldn't that be less than the standard PI of the car?

one more issue I have, and this is just me, and some people will disagree with this, but I personally think the races are too long. I think we should have two 12 & 15 lap race instead of two 20 lap races..

Would be better for the replays as you'd get the whole race with a 12 lapper, but this is GT racing, not Touring Cars. 12 laps would be fine for Touring Cars.
Re: European GT championship. General discussion.
Finally got all results from the Race Marshall's.
I have to do some errands today and will get the points sorted before tonight, hopefully before 6PM it should be published and viewable.

Re: European GT championship. General discussion.
The Gt season 10 build was 823
The EGT build is 825.
The EGT build has less weight but the 823 allows for a extra tyre width on the rear. Id rather have the weight and tyre.

Cars are working fine mate, not making any changes to the builds this late, we have enough to concentrate on with just the running lol.

Re: European GT championship. General discussion.
I'm not really fussed with whatever happens to the starting grid for the 2nd race, but how is having a random grid bad? People are trying to say that its mayhem, why? Because maybe some of the slower guys are at the front, so what? Are you then trying to say that they can't race clean, or have good racecraft?
I've seen plenty of fast people on here have terrible racecraft, not saying TPR Box does but I can remember one time the whole lobby started laughing because in the middle of a race he said 'Jeeze I can't pass someone without hitting them'.
Slower people can have great racecraft too, as seen in lower lobbies who have fantastic racing, and some higher lobbies can possibly have worse.

Re: European GT championship. General discussion.
I don't think that having a random grid for race 2 is any different than a reverse grid, chances are one of the slower drivers in the lobby is going to be at the front, it's up to the quicker guys to get passed them cleanly or if the guy in front makes a mistake. If the slower guy is sticking to the racing line and defending his position fairly then so be it.
I'm not the quickest in any lobby I'm racing in, but I do consider myself to be a good defensive driver when I need to be, but if the guy behind me is in a title fight, then I will back off to let them past.
