European GT championship. General discussion.

Thanks for the clarification Chaddy, avoiding a clash between two GT championships is still surely the most pragmatic solution?

no EGT is a TCR event to fill in the spot until TORA events are ready

we chose the 6th as we cant do the 30th due to Sebring and with taking the 6th it means we can get EGT out the wait ASAP. we are looking at running another FM4 championship on Sundays for FM4 drivers. This championship will be every Sunday that the GT11 isn't running.

This championship has come through a few changes this season and all have them gave the ability for the drivers to vote, which made the decision transparent and also meant that we got to help the staff make the decision that's best for the championship. 

So surely we should have either of been consulted about the change or even a poll put up about it, as loads of drivers are now going to miss out just because they don't sit on the XBOXs all day but actually have lives that they've already had to organize once before.

Personally i agree with everyone else either move or abolish completely the TEC Sunday quali and race when we are meant too and also that way we can as you put it Wilson 'we can get EGT out the way ASAP'

The EGT also clashed on the same day Bathurst was running too...

If it helps, and if the TEC would allow, how about allowing some extra qualifying sessions for Sebring?

I could host a qualifying session any evening over the next 2 weeks if we can get the numbers for it and get the 'official' nod.

you have a whole week to qualify be it a monday or a sunday so you have plenty of time to qualify and you also have team mates or is the fact you want to sit and wait for others qualifying times so you know what to beat well if im right they normally get hidden so thats that out the question
the TEC event has clashed with other events before and not been a problem
the more annoying part is the fact that EGT will now run into an actual long running TORA event

It wouldnt be a problem if people took 10 seconds and looked at what was already going and thinking "oh well thats been going for awhile and been planned for awhile" instead of being screwing this great series. If i was warspite,steven,or tweak I would be BEYOND pissed.

end of the day this event really shouldn't have moved TEC qualifying hasn't caused a problem before clashing with events so why move it to clash with another main (more of a main) event

Ahhhh C´mon guys! I planned my life so that I could race on the 23rd March. I saw the change and then I planned my life so that I could race on the 6th April! Now you are thinking about changing stuff again! GOD!  I can´t keep changing stuff, other people are depending on me and I can´t keep telling them different stories.

Make a decision and stick with it: I´m voting 6th April!
Sorry for the ones that can´t race on this day, but I hope you can understand my point of view.   I can´t keep changing my plans over and over.

There are 6 Q sessions for Sebring those racing in the EGT can qualify in sessions 1 to 5 this makes it possible to then just do both.

Im looking into it i really cant see the logic in changing the date .

I have spent the past 24 hours dealing with some situations off-site and have returned here and catch-up again, I have read every post and every concern. The date the final EGT round was moved to will stand, and I would appreciate it if other TORA officials wern't stirring the pot, you too may be upset by the situation at hand and want to join in to support your feelings, but please keep comments constructive when in public, each have your own area to speak freely and in Privacy. we were always going to have issues and whatever we did, someone would lose out, not everyone who may or may not be effected is posting, we made the call to benefit the majority, and i'm sorry if this has called an inconvienience. We at TORA put all of this on because we care, and it leaks into our person lives like you wouldn't believe, for every 4 hours im at work, I spend a good 1 1/2 producing with the others what you see today, so if there is upset, yes we do take it personally, we can never win in these situations, all we can do is look after the most we can. If anyone wants to PM directly then please do, you may vent all you want and ill do my best to address each individually. Thank-you.

EGT was origionally a TCR series, but was promoted to full TORA Pitlane series when they filled the 100 spot entry list.

OK, TEC trumped EGT for the timeslot in question. Since that has happened, the fairest way to resolve conflict would be to postpone GT11 accordingly.

it should work that way, but that staff team are the ones putting together that series so it wont get changed.

How can you make a call to benefit the majority when you don't know who the majority is?  

I am able to host extra Sebring qualifying sessions at 8PM GMT during the week.

If a couple of others could do the same, perhaps it would make it easier for those who are in EGT and were planning to make Q6?

Give us a chance to help each other before making major, potentially season ending changes to the schedule.
