Re: European GT championship. General discussion.
Apologies guys but its more than just one issue, the main being TEC and EGT Q drivers would be forced into one or the other, seeing as not everyone has the time to choose multiple sessions they can reserve the time for, another big factor is we need someone on the helm to run all aspects, last round I heard experienced some issues and delays which were under no ones fault, however I myself will be back to make sure the final round goes to expectations, this was not my intention to push the race back, it was already brought forward and discussed before I had been informed this was needed, however this will not make up for how sorry I feel for you guys who worked so hard to this point, if some of you are losing out please take my sympathy with truth, I too have missed out on events iv worked for, so i truely know how you feel. Hopefully we can move on and see this as an extra week to get times down and tunes up! Look forward to seeing everyones battling pace for the finale!

Re: European GT championship. General discussion.
Why is this moved and not the TEC and if it clashes then people shouldnt enter 2 or more championships at the same time if they clash.

Because the TEC is harder to re-plan a date that EGT is. When I realized the complications of the two meetings the TEC had all the Qualifying sessions planned out. EGT however didn't therefore getting the priority.
TEC is also a one off 12hr race with the week prior being its build up.

Well, EGT qualifying was always planned before the race... untill a few weeks ago...ShrinkingSteven wrote:rondanger wrote:Why is this moved and not the TEC and if it clashes then people shouldnt enter 2 or more championships at the same time if they clash.

Re: European GT championship. General discussion.
I don't mean any disrespect but this sounds like letting a few people have there cake and it it while the rest of us suffer as we arranged our work/social life around the calendar dates posted in January and now wont make the final race of the championship.LMR WARSPITE wrote:Apologies guys but its more than just one issue, the main being TEC and EGT Q drivers would be forced into one or the other, seeing as not everyone has the time to choose multiple sessions they can reserve the time for!

Re: European GT championship. General discussion.
Hey guys
I fully understand some guys have been affected by the change and as a CT member I'm very Sorry its caused you to miss the EGT finale Ive missed final rounds myself in the past its really not a nice feeling.
When the TEC qualifying sessions came around we instantly saw a problem as the 23rd meant the final TEC Session and final EGT race clashed. With the numbers we get for EGT, we felt that the Sunday slot would mean alot of European based drivers would find it better to do their qualifying for TEC on the 23rd instead of the EGT race.
We then changed the date to the 6th of April as we cant race on the 30th as that would clash with the Sebring 12hr weekend, which we don't want to do.
Again I'm really bummed fellow drivers cannot make it, but I hope I've help make it clearer as to why we made the change.

Re: European GT championship. General discussion.
well being fairly new around these parts and at the risk of upsetting some people there is only one word for this situation
POOR!!!
if this was a private championship or even a TCR event there might be some excuse, but these are both tora events with loads of planning in the same cars being run by staff members, this is not a good way to run your forum and treat your members guys!!

Re: European GT championship. General discussion.
They could run it on the Saturday that weekend, but there is the risk of interfering with the German TCC race.

Re: European GT championship. General discussion.
The race itself is only a fraction of the problem, and changing it to Saturday doesn't solve anything as there is TEC Qually Tuesday - Sunday.
Re: European GT championship. General discussion.
Here's an idea, whenever there is a TEC qualifying host a Euro GT qualifying session throughout the week. Run a qualifying before the race on the original planned date for EGT & host a US time zone qually on the same Sunday as EGT's.
I think this is the best compromise but I could be wrong. Just throwing it out there

1: All of us have a whole week to qualify for TEC, not only that Sunday.
2: Missing the qualifying for TEC is less important than missing EGT qualifying. In TEC you have teammates who can qualify for you and that race is 12 hours long. Let's not forget that every lobby races eachother in TEC. This is not the case in EGT, you can only qualify for yourself and you only race the drivers within your lobby, meaning you can't score higher (or lower) than another lobby.
3: The TEC race takes place a whole week later than it's last qualifying session. You sure you couldn't fit in an extra session on Monday the 24th at the same time, or on Sunday 16th at the same time?
There could have been many different ways to handle this situation.

Re: European GT championship. General discussion.
The only qually I can make is Sunday without completely messing plans up which I don't really want to do. Is there no chance of running a qually session for a select few at a different time to suit us all?

Agree, the orginasers are diffrent from Euro GT which is the CT lead while its me and Martin running TEC and with the TEC we have always held q sessions same nights as other series, tcc, gt and iscc at same time and I agree it was not staff who changed the EGT time as there will always now be clashes with tora events which is not an issue as tec your team mates q plus there are 5 more to choose from.
Re: European GT championship. General discussion.
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but doesn't moving the EGT finale to 6 April means it will now clash with round 1 of GT Season 11, surely having a TCR run GT series and an official TORA run GT series at exactly the same time is a bit daft...

Re: European GT championship. General discussion.
But isn't having TEC qualifying placed on the same day/time as EGT final round that has been out for MONTHS a bit daft
Re: European GT championship. General discussion.
There are many TEC sessions, moving a race so it doesn't clash with one session, and then making it clash with a round 1 of competing GT series (and TORAs premier GT series for the next 5 months) is even dafter! I guess that's the dangers of having competing TCR and TORA series being run at the same site, instead of focusing on the core products here at TORA. Same happened in GT S9, rival G500 and SuperGT series setup alongside it, it just dilutes the efforts the staff put into headline championships IMHO.

Its not a TCR championship its in the pitlane section. FM4 drivers deserve official championships too, although not the main TORA ones as they are now FM5. I dont see any problems with the clash.
