Re: BTCC 2014
http://www.touringcartimes.com/2014/03/18/andrew-jordan-fastest-in-rain-affected-media-day-test/
Reigning champion Andrew Jordan was fastest in the media day test at Donington Park, in a four-hour session where the great British weather set the tone for the times.
After a mixed first hour, the heavens opened just after 2pm, leading to an enforced period of quiet before the cars took to the track on wet weather tyres.
As a result, the teams will not be reading too much into the times after such limited dry running, with Jordan’s best lap around 0.7s slower than he managed in the bitterly cold conditions of media day last year.
Before the rain came, Jordan topped in the times in the Eurotech Racing Honda Civic, a mere 0.001 seconds ahead of Gordon Shedden in the new Honda Civic Tourer, with Alain Menu’s Team BMR Volkswagen CC just 0.139 seconds behind on his BTCC return.
Adam Morgan was fourth in the new Mercedes A-Class, ahead of Sam Tordoff’s Triple Eight MG, with Matt Neal, Aron Smith, Colin Turkington, Rob Collard and rookie Tom Ingram completing the top 10.
Triple Eight’s Marc Hynes racked up 64 laps of the day, the most of any driver, followed by West Surrey Racing’s Nick Foster, with 60 laps, and both Tordoff and Ingram, on 59 laps.
There were three red flags during the session. The first came after Chris Stockton stopped at the end of the pitlane in his BTC Racing Chevrolet Cruze, then the second after Shedden had an off at McLeans.
Stockton was also the architect of the third red flag, when he went off at McLeans with one hour left in the session.
The Welch Motorsport pair of Dan Welch and Ollie Jackson; Rotek Racing’s Robb Holland, Team BMR’s Jack Goff and JWT Performance’s Lea Wood didn’t run in the session.
Welch Motorsport are concentrating on finishing their cars, while Wood’s Toyota Avensis hasn’t been fitted with its engine yet.

Re: BTCC 2014
Just a heads up to all BTCC supportors out there, I will be running my BTCC championship Season 9 shortly with the assistance and cooperation with JVanessen.
I'm hoping to have it approved as a TCR event shortly, anyone interested, already have 10 drivers ready to sign up.
Thanks
PS Can't wait for the actual season to get going now, went media day yesterday and now im getting very impatient haha, the cars seem faster and closer than last year and good to see the new champs getting up to speed quickly to.

Re: BTCC 2014
The MG Official team name is 'MG KX Clubcard Fuel Save', worst name ever with a crappy Tesco paint job

Re: BTCC 2014
New A Class NGTC car looks great, although going by the pictures it looks quite small compared to the BMW 1 Series and the new S3 Saloon. S3 looks like a nicely put together car, but the paint job is pretty lazy.
Civic Tourers are pretty big, although its good to see them doing something different.

Re: BTCC 2014
Moffat's Cruze looks great. Best effort from a smaller team in years.

Re: BTCC 2014
The MG is not a nice paint! And the more a see the civic tourers the more I think I like them.
But I'm a WSR man myself, so I like the BMW the most

Re: BTCC 2014
After today's events they should really consider widening the Cooper Straight or improve the run off areas/barriers around that area

Re: BTCC 2014
So you went too? Great value for money, considering a Leeds Utd ticket is the exact same price and that only lasts 90 minutes & ends in disappointment.
I actually got on the telly
No one else seemed to be wearing a white jacket...

Re: BTCC 2014
I haven't seen Foster's Race 2 accident, but god, Simon Belcher's one lucky gentleman.
Been seeing cars go off at Church for years now, it was only a matter of time before someone went into the trees! That's definitely a ''man's corner for men'' as Guy Martin would say.
