Re: 2014 MSA TORA Sebring 12 Hours General Discussion
Can I submit an entry if I know what class I'm want to be in but I'm undecided on the car?
All American Racers is back for 2014 as well, though Smurfy has parted ways with AAR and is racing for his club.
Also, our "sponsors" will be very sports-oriented. Anyone care to guess?

Can I ask those who are racing in GT (the same category as myself) whether you guys use a lot of downforce or very little for Sebring? I've always sucked around here and have always struggled to find the right tune.

Re: 2014 MSA TORA Sebring 12 Hours General Discussion
I have tried tunes put on storefronts by LMR, F4H, and I have come to wonder how the Hell do the top teams driver their cars so freaking loose. I slide through the corner on entry through the center and then when I go to correct it shoots off the other way that the corner goes even on Normal steering. I hate driving cars like that and I don't see how the top teams do it.

or just go forza forums and ask there or look for some open source tuning guides
Re: 2014 MSA TORA Sebring 12 Hours General Discussion
Windcharger, it comes with experience. I couldn't drive the cars before that were super loose, and even now, I struggle with them at times. Try staying on the throttle (just a tiny bit) once you're done braking. That way the rear end stays relatively low. I'm talking like 1-5%.
I say this, but I cannot for the life of me drive any 911 RSR or GT3 Cup

Over the course of a 2 hour stint, actually after just a few laps, the initial looseness goes away. However, a car that is neutral to tight just gains more understeer over time. I know that isn't how it works in real life, but that is something I have found with Forza physics... and understeer is much slower than a bit of looseness.
I struggle with GT cars in general, so my findings could be a bit off though.
Re: 2014 MSA TORA Sebring 12 Hours General Discussion
Well it makes sense, understeer = the front pushes = lots of tire scrub = slow times.
Run 5-7 laps, then the initially oversteering car will feel better and less loose.

The looseness gives you the turn in. If you can turn in quicker you can brake later & get on the power earlier. You just need to be more smooth, if you're gentle on the power coming out of corners until the car is pointing relatively straight you can then get on the power quicker. That's how you get quicker round a lap, less braking more accelerating!

Will there be a spotters guide? If not, then will there be one for LeMans?

Are you allowed to go solo or do you have to be in a team to compete in this event ?

Re: 2014 MSA TORA Sebring 12 Hours General Discussion
no, you can do the whole race yourself if you wish
there is no rules saying there must be a minimum of 2 drivers
from the start (2012) the rules have been you can just enter a car on your own if you wish

Re: 2014 MSA TORA Sebring 12 Hours General Discussion
This wrong as you cant drive stint 3 and 4. No double stinting 3 and 4. same as years past.
Re: 2014 MSA TORA Sebring 12 Hours General Discussion
It should be written into the rules then. Haven't people attempted it in the past though?
"Teams can consist of up to 4 drivers. Ideally you want the full four to make the 12 hours less challenging on yourselves and your consoles. Teams must drive in the same car throughout the event. If any team members switch into different cars throughout the race then their session will not be counted in the team's overall distance.
This suggests that it is acceptable to run by oneself.
