Re: NAFFCar Lap Times
I can post replays if you like. But like I said, I work an hour past the start of each race. I'd love to participate, but I can't.

1:29.653. -Old Gearing
1:29.950 - New Gearing
Gearing is better thanks to Hurricane but the backend still wants to come around under braking on Entry into medium to high speed corners. Only 1-2 Corners that I have that problem at Sebring. Still need to do some tuning to the car.
Plus I have no idea what I am doing wrong. I have splits for a 1:29.4XX going into the final corner at Sebring and I loose all the time I gained the entire lap plus more. Do I need to change my steering locks. (Inside is 24, Outside is 95) or is it my driving style.

Raise the spring height a bit front and back, then make sure the differential is affecting the acceleration only, decel should be zero.
If it still persist's stiffen the front anti roll bar slowly whilst trying it until it's comfortable.
Another way to solve it is putting race brakes on and slowly shifting the brake balance to the rear, sounds weird but it works.
Or you could just go for the drift points and have a good laugh

Re: NAFFCar Lap Times
Now steady in the 1:27.4s, and have seen a 1:27.0xx. I can't see picking up much more than that.
Re: NAFFCar Lap Times
What is the official ruling on track limits at Sebring? Is it as long as its not dirty or do we need to to keep two inside the lines at all times?
If so how will this be policed?
edit: When following the specified track limits I am getting solid 1:28.6s. Out of bounds but still clean is 1:27.9s

Re: NAFFCar Lap Times
Running 1:27.9 i feel i could get to a 1:27.2 or so if i got through the last corner and entrance to back stretch right.

Laps must be clean by FM4 standards in qualifying, otherwise you get a /!\, and will be considered slower than the slowest clean lap.
In race conditions however, the TORA track limits rules come into play: a minimum of two wheels inside the track limits at all times.
I've found a variable of up to maybe 4 tenths of a second between the two "track limits" rules. So expect much quicker laps in the race than qualifying.

Wait don't you mean the other way around?

Re: NAFFCar Lap Times
Two wheels on the track is quicker than the 4 that FM4 requires. Much quicker.
I found a couple 1:26.7s and 8s tonight, but there's no way I can hit them without a /!\ popping up.

Re: NAFFCar Lap Times
Bradley, this is what happens when I get a bit of practice. Doesn't happen often, but every once in a while I find pace.

Wait now Im even more confused. Your saying that you go quicker in the first and last turns without going way past the white and yellow painted lines?
Just to clarify here. At turn one apex if your right up against the wall you will not get a /!\ but you are way past the lines.
Also the last turn most guys I've seen will go two and three cars widths over the white line on the brakes or hug the wall. Both lines then track out against the tire wall on the front straight. All of those things culminate in massive times savings without getting a /!\ but technically are way off the track.
These photos are all taken on clean laps. Meaning no /!\.
Clearly way past the track limits. I am assuming this is a glitch in the game but what I am asking is are we allowed to take advantage of this glitch or not.

Re: NAFFCar Lap Times
JVanEssen - My interpretation of T1 and 17 is pavement. The places that you pick up time w/ two wheels off are the T2-3 hairpin complex and heading onto the bachchute.
Re: NAFFCar Lap Times
Ok thanks for clarification. This track Tskuba are the weird glitch tracks and I like to clarify first. See you guys in a bit.

I am utterly shocked and embarrassed. Instead of going to "Select a Tune". I just grabbed what I thought was the car with the proper tune on it for today's Q session. Instead of a rocket tuned for Sebring, I grabbed the rock I used at Sunset. That put me solidly in the B Lobby, with an A Lobby car.
But I made the most of race day and had quite a fun time chasing down and passing cars in both races.
Re: NAFFCar Lap Times
Solid 40.00s-40.2s, with the occasional 39.something between wallshots.
I reckon that there's gonna be some wreckin.

VW Golf? Yeah, about that... when I tested all the cars at all the tracks, it seemed a great choice until I took it here to Sedona. I don't know why its so slow here, just seems a bit hopeless.
On the flip side, it should be interesting to see how th eCRX and Celica get along at Road Atlanta and Infineon.
