How can that possibly be true? Totally disagree with this. Cars run much closer together on ovals than road courses. All ovals. Not even arguable.
Also...I didnt bring this up because I had one lag race that was ruined and just wanted to complain. I brought it up because I've had countless oval races ruined along with seeing countless other drivers races ruined including 3 out of 3 races in the beginning of the season for VM and TORA. One race down and the final championship points are already permanently skewed and screwed. PERIOD

And I agree with the Default Collisions protecting against lag, especially on pit stops.
My opinion is cosmetic damage, while it does protect against lag, somehow encourages racers to be overagressive. It also takes out tire wear, making pit stops a moot point. And when you turn on cosmetic damage in FM4, it suddenly becomes Turismo fakeness.
Yep...and their looking to bring it back after the horrible excuse of a race 1.
I've talked to multiple people who ran VM NASCAR last season and they all have the same wonder of why it was switched back. Specially after last week.

Then might as well take off drag tires, as Cosmetic Damage also takes out tire wear. I raced with VM in 2012, and it was a great series... even with Lag crashes. I almost won an A Lobby race, only to have a lag spike take me out on a GWC start... but still would rather race with that risk than with GT3 style bouncing off everything

Let's see...12 started the race...6 finished. Yeah...great race! So...you ignore all the people who agree to call me a complainer? Real [Censored] nice.

Until you brought it up, NOBODY was whining about limited damage. So IMO, that is one driver stirring things up to suit his desires.

So...you'd rather drive with the risk of having your race and series ruin by lag because you want tire wear? I don't see many people bouncing off stuff. That seems a bit dramatic.

This entire topic is valid and validated by at least ten people who agreed...on both sites. So...the only one I see stirring things up atm is you. I really can't stand people who are so afraid of speaking up that they persecute others for doing it. I've put my time in on this site to be able to bring up a legitimate issue without having someone like you start [Censored]. Totally uncalled for.
Are you even in this series? No...so wtf?

Look the bottom line is more races are Ruined because of lag and not driver error.
Why do we keep risking ourselves.
Whether its switching to a default setting or going to a cosmetic format, its something worth thinking about.

Mikey every driver has a right to express concerns if justified, and I personally believe his opinions (supported by others also) are perfectly reasonable.
However, those same drivers must take into consideration not everyone may agree with them entirely, and that those responsible for managing the series will be responsible for whatever action is taken.
We'll do our best to find a balance between keeping the Series Professional, and the Drivers happy, so please, be patient.

I was 'whining' in the lobby too. it's not one driver stirring things up when almost every other driver agreesFlyin Mikey J wrote:Until you brought it up, NOBODY was whining about limited damage. So IMO, that is one driver stirring things up to suit his desires.

Inter-continental lag spikes, usually, but sometimes general internet hiccups. On an oval, when the car that lags goes straight for no apparent reason, he goes straight into a wall, bounces along, and slots back in where he belongs. On a road course, when that car goes straight off, it tends to return to the track after passing through/obliterating every car between the runoff area it previously sat in and the spot it belongs.
I think it's sometimes referred to as the "400mph warp-lag", but since the car doesn't have as far to travel between these "burps" on an oval, it tends not to be the same wrecking-ball incidents. Especially if it happens on a straight.

Point taken, but will say that the Default Collisions option would have helped your pit road incident more than Cosmetic damage would have.
