Also they apparently restarted the session with the catch fencing looking like this. Ridiculous.

Nah they had a crane there working on it.

We're very lucky that Loic wasn't seriously hurt, some of the photo's from the aftermath show just how ruined the car was. Even the windscreen was missing.

There was definitely a crane there doing something to the barrier in the aftermath. Over on the left here I think although I'm not sure tbf, doesn't look like a 'fence repairer'

This is was I was banking on. That they must have been sand banging in the Le Mans test day.
But this is great though. Not just for us Aston fans, but it means that we have another potentially epic battle to keep our eyes on as well as LMP1 Smile

Session is red flagged.......again. That's three times in the two sessions so far. Rolling Eyes

Just heard on Radio Le Mans that Audi are building another car using the spare chassis in garage #1, so that's great news. It's too soon to hear whether Loic Duval will be competing this weekend. Fingers crossed he'll be ok to continue after that huge crash.

It's a shame that qualifying 1 has been cut short, but there must be extensive damage to the barriers at the Porsche Curves.

Looking at the #99 Aston when it was towed back to the pits, it looked spookingly similar to the damage on Allan Simonsen's car last year. The door is completely ripped off on the drivers side. But thankfully, Fernando Rees is fine & well
