Makes me wonder why road cars aren't this safe. I know obviously there are helmets, hans devices, better belts etc but it makes me think that road cars could be a whole lot safer.

#99 Aston out of the race. Cannot be repaired.

Also for the people that thought the fencing was repaired before qualifying last night -

"Duval’s accident, meanwhile, ripped a large chunk of the catch fence out but ACO Sporting Director Vincent Beaumesnil said they were able to continue without immediate repairs to the fence due to fans not being in the area. The fencing has since been repaired overnight."

So qualifying was run yesterday without any catch fencing in place at the scene of Duval's accident earlier in the day.

Qualifying 2's quite interesting so far with two or three red flags.

And WTF was Lucas Di Grassi thinking? Pulling into the path of the #29 Morgan which causes it to crash by the pit entry. Absolutely abismal stupid driving.

What's everyones thoughts so far on Q2?

They certainly are mate. Don't know why because they've had the test days and three sessions so far so they should have no excuses for the terrible driving. Obviously, accidents like Duvals & Fernando Rees are the only exceptions.

The final quali session is gonna be intense for sure now. Just over a second covers the top 5 in LMP1 now Very Happy

Don't wanna jinx it but I agree with the session going well. Not one red flag so far Very Happy

Bet you do hope Porsche secure pole won't you Duncan? And they certainly do have a chance. But realistically, I think it's gonna be Toyota vs Porsche for the pole position. Audi are a bit too slow but will no doubt make up for it in the race.

Not sure how people are watching the race this year but I was originally gonna watch the race on Eurosport via the xbox. However, as I've found out, it's nearly 2 minutes behind the same footage on the Eurosport Player. So I'll be hooking the laptop to the TV via HDMI cable and have Radio Le Mans commentary. Sorry Eurosport, but you're not as good as the RLM team Smile

I either watch it on TV with Eurosport or on an internet stream muted with RLM commentary.

I will watch as much as FOX Sports will show me, hopefully with a good TV crew. Last couple years they have had some pretty good commentators. Scott Pruett is brilliant in the booth, and since I am no fan of his race tactics, I wish he'd remain in the announcing side of things.

Really looking forward to this. It'll only be my 3rd time watching the race live and I'm hoping to watch as much as I can. Really can't tell who is going to win, anybody has a chance.

This definitely gonna be an exciting race this year. It's been a long time since anyone has said that any of the three top manufacturers can win this race. It's gonna be mega.

I'm definitely not leaving the house in the next couple of days. I have the coverage sorted & now the snacks. Bought myself a big bag of Doritos with a Sour Cream & Chive dip, Chocolate & a few cans of Cola! #lol Razz

I'm not against an all electric car but why can't it just look like a normal prototype?

I just saw that the US gets 22.5 hours of the race live on FOX Sports 1 & 2, as well as some pre and post race coverage. Not too shabby... just miss a wee bit of the middle of the night hours.
