Re: 2014 Le Mans 24 Hours Thread
I think the #3 could of chased down the #7 over night if it hadn't been wrecked... Just my opinion.
Rebellion on for a top 5 as it stands, Brilliant work to get that R-One to where it is.

Two classes will have great finishes, but the overengineered P1 class predictably will not. Price of ubertech is unreliability.

Just been announced on RLM: #14 Porsche is now a retirement. Which now means that the #12 Rebellion is now 4th overall.

Re: 2014 Le Mans 24 Hours Thread
What makes Audi so tough to beat is not only reliability, but also the ease of repairs. Replacability is engineered into nearly every component of the car, so that when something breaks, major or minor, it is rather quick to replace.
Re: 2014 Le Mans 24 Hours Thread
Both the #97 and #95 are in the garage.

PHEW! The #95 Aston has certainly got me on a knife edge in the last couple of hours. Thank goodness it's gone back out.

Re: 2014 Le Mans 24 Hours Thread
Feel bad for the 35... led so much only to lose lots of hp at the end. But still, P2 is surprisingly competitive this year.
Re: 2014 Le Mans 24 Hours Thread
Anyone else here make it all through the night? 5:30AM here, and I haven't missed a beat since the fourth hour, and that was because I woke up sick yesterday.
Re: 2014 Le Mans 24 Hours Thread
It's not nice for anyone really when they come so close to the finish. But definitely to the #35 G-Drive team. Leading for so long!
Only 30 minutes to go.

I didn't survive all the way through
I gave up at 1:30am this morning & slept until 6am, missing about 4 and a half hours of the race.

Re: 2014 Le Mans 24 Hours Thread
I missed the end two of the last four years, as those long late safety car periods are rather sleep inducing, especially at 3-4-5am
Re: 2014 Le Mans 24 Hours Thread
2 laps to go maybe? The #14 Porsche is being bought out of the garage which is nice.

#2 Audi
#1 Audi
#8 Toyota
wish the two Audi's were around the other way
did AF Corse end up winning GTE Pro?

What a race though. Cannot believe it's over already but this has certainly been a very memorable race. To see Allan Simonsen's Aston claiming victory in the GTE AM class is something truly special.
In the end, the best teams won so many congratulations to the Audi Sport team for claiming their 13th overall Le Mans victory. Particularly to the overall victors Fassler, Lotterer and Treluyer. This win means that Audi are only 3 wins away from matching Porsche in the all time winners list.
What a stellar effort from the Rebellion Racing R-One, a privateer team claiming fourth position overall is a really special achievement. Well done to them.
I'm already looking forward to the 2015 edition of the greatest sporting event in the world.

I missed the first 25 minutes as I was at my mates 18th, then about 6 hours last night (Hour 1.5-hour 7.5) then watched all of it from there
great race, can't wait for ours and can't wait for 2015
