Re: welcome to the TCR GRX
Shoot, had Nova been online, he could have easily made it for the B Feature.
Sorry for the delays, but the usual Connection/NAT conflicts once again crept in tonight. Frustrating does not begin to explain how it feels for race hosts when this happens.

Re: welcome to the TCR GRX
What an amazing night's racing! I'm totally in love with this series already!
I'm still kicking myself for forgetting my joker in Heat 1 and getting a 30-Second penalty but the racing was just awesome, especially the 4 car battle for 4th-5th-6th-7th in the A-Final!

Re: welcome to the TCR GRX
I must say and i cannot say it strongly enough, forgetting to take the joker lap is on nearly all of these tracks a3 second longer lap.
This in itself should be penalty enough, why then was a further penalty added to it.
Oh and 15% front and 75% rear for the first race of a new championship was always going to be a fubar moment. Not well thought out. All that resulted was 12 cars piling into each other and then all into the tyre wall, making us all look like we'd just picked up the game for the first time.
But what a fantastic championship. Spins, rolls, cars looking and sounding great, dicing with death to overtake door to door at 100 mph whilst drifting........ awesome.
And for the most part it was clean.
Well done for bringing it to us and may the drifting overtakes continue.
Must make for some fantastic replays.

I was a Martin Schanche fan and to celebrate how good he was, i have popped up a clip where he wasnt racing, lol. It was a good 'A Final' though, especially as Olle Arnesson was his usual self, that man must have kept the Audi body panels department in business through the 1980's.
Commentary from the god like creature himself, Sir Murray Walker and check out the safety precautions on the final lap of the 'A Final' on the Start Finish line.
Mr Wheelwash.
It is sacrilege to attach the 87 season without mentioning the 88.
1988 was the infamous year of the Martin Schanke in the RS200 Vs
matti Alamaki in the Peugeot 205Ti16, war was definately on the cards.
I remember being bought a video for my birthday, it was one of the Car Wars Series, i think it may have been Car Wars 3 and their entire section on rallycross consisted of Martin Schanche and Mati Alamaki, door to door battling, usually with the RS200 coming off worst. I know that clip was included on there. Duke Video, did the entire series, they have them all available to buy on download or dvd. they also have a You Tube channel, giving two minute snippets to enjoy. DukeArchive .

The Joker penalty is the same for all Joker infractions, whether you miss it or take the Joker twice in a race. TBH, I hadn't really considered anyone not taking the Joker, and when pressed for the penalty for a Joker infraction the 30sec penalty came into mind.
The grip handicap caught me out in the Feature as well... as I'd been working too much all week to get in any practice and severely overshot T1. Starting 1000ft behind everyone hopefully taught me not to do that again.
I'm just glad to see so many gave driving these little beasts a shot.

This series has been quite the unexpected success, and I've got to thank everyone who has helped make it so.

Re: welcome to the TCR GRX
I purpose a rule addition / change.
The final to be run in two halves.
The final will be run on the same settings of grip for both finals.
The final first half start will be random grid, the second final start grid will be a reverse grid of the finishing standings of the first half.
This evens up the race a touch giving everyone in the lobby a fighting chance of a win.
All of those who agree say I......

Either I am blind or the championship standings are not showing for me. I don't see a topic containing them.

Something to consider for season two... as I see that the demand is there for another round of this at some point in the near future.

You're not blind buddy, they're just not in their own topic. They are all in the live timing at the start of the Sebring sign in thread. http://forums.theonlineracingassociation.com/t14594-tcr-grx-rd-1-sebring-club-sign-in
Re: welcome to the TCR GRX
Oh snap, I got so wrapped up in updating Touring Masters US results and standings that I apparently forgot to take care of GRX results and standings.
I'll have to do it tomorrow morning US time.

I've ruined my car It handles like a 4 wheel drive lifted truck on ice :/
Re: welcome to the TCR GRX
I know GRX isn't very lap time based, but how fast is fast around Infineon?
Re: welcome to the TCR GRX
I haven't got my best lap with the Fiesta but I'd say lower then 1.45 is a proper lap.

To get a good feel for running in the heats we have been using 10% reduction to front grip and 50% grip reduction in the rear.
Just for a ball park figure on these settings :
Peugeot 1.55.8
Polo 1.55.0
Fiesta 1.54.3!!!
The fiesta owns this track and the red bull old boys are struggling with a french car that just will not grip regardless of tune or build combo.
