It should be fair conditions. If it's wasn't your fault James, then you're all good dude, but there was no reason why it couldn't wait til morning.

Deano how does 7PM GMT tonight work? I think both of you are being a little over sensitive with each other, but you do deserve another session if it caused you problems being at dusk. Micko and any of the others can join as well, granted they feel it impacted their session.

I quite like dusk myself Smile

I totally agree Colin. Blown way out of proportion. I haven't blamed the lobby host(James) for anything and took his word. Although his video CLEARLY shows that we were at the wrong time of day once out on track.

Thanks for the help and yes, I'll be pleased to do my qualifying properly. I just want a fair shot like everyone else.

Thank you

Thank you to everyone in my lobby last night. Great feeling of positivism and gratitude for running the session and bringing in extra guys who initially missed out.
Hope you all have a great race on Sunday.

So we all get a change to rerun then? because it is not fair for them people to have done there run and to get another run as well keep there lap times from the first run.

People who ran with the correct lobby settings/without game time glitch don't get to rerun. Only people who where affected by the problems in that lobby have the chance to rerun if they wish. If they are requalifying would of thought their previous laptime would be wiped.

It only fair that there lap time are wiped out and if they don't go faster than they did in the first one then they DONT get to keep the time from the first run.

I think they will keep there lap times form the first run and get to do another run if this is the case then its 100% unacceptable if you do another run whatever you did in your first run does not count.

I would like to join tonights qualifying. Thanks for giving us who were affected a new chance!

It'll be like the previous session never existed.
So, if the drivers planning to re-qualify actually produce worse times than their first session, the worse time will be used.

I'd presume that all times from last nights session will be wiped and a new time set in tonight's rerun. I wouldn't expect to keep last nights time if I went slower tonight. That's just daft.

Hey guys, I know why you ended up running in sunset conditions - it's not game glitch, it's a misunderstanding of how the lobby settings work.

You're using 'Current' for your race lobby settings, when you select this is will ALWAYS set the lobby to the current real time (rounded to the nearest hour) unless you go in manually change it again - so if you set a lobby up at 8pm, it will be 8pm *UNLESS* you then override that. So what probably happened is James has correctly set the lobby up beforehand, then backed out and set a new lobby up at some point thinking it's saved all of the settings - it has saved the settings, except for the current time of day which will be reset to the current time of around 8pm, which is why you had low sun last night.

You can see that in James' video above which he recorded in the early hours (1am ish) - the lobby is set to Current time and is now showing 1:00 (that's 1am, Project CARS uses 24 hour time, so 1pm would be 13:00). You can test this out yourselves - if you go and create a new lobby and have Current time set, it will always default to the current time (to the nearest hour).

So when creating a lobby, even if all the settings appear to have saved, you still need to go in and manually change the time again to 13:00 (for 1pm).

There's is an alternative way of doing it, instead of using Current time, set the lobby to Race Date or Custom instead. Here you can enter a custom race date, and a custom time. If you choose this option, when you back out and re-create a lobby, it will remember the time of day you set, unlike when using the Current time option.

Hope that helps, it could well catch out people in the future if they don't notice how the Current time option automatically resets the time to the current actual time Smile

Well that explains a lot, Thanks for that Magic, I knew there had to be an explanation.

@James, Mate, I've been there, done that, got the T-Shirt. It's very easy to miss one little thing when hosting mate, done it myself many times. This was just unfortunate and obviously something easily missed and thankfully it's being corrected tonight. At least this is a lesson learned about lobby settings. 😉

You're welcome Deano - I only found out myself through some trial and error for our own Le Mans 24 race, we wanted it to start a certain time and have a full day/night transition through the race and I couldn't work out why the time kept resetting, until I changed it from Current to Custom. It's obvious once you know about it I guess Very Happy

No mandatory pitstop for round 1. Will make the rule for the rest of the season clear after round 1 when we've tested it more extensively, but as we don't want to keep changing the rules for this race so close to round 1, it will stay as no mandatory pitstop.
