Re: FM6 General Discussion
Microsoft is bringing its Forza Motorsport series to the PC later this year, with a stripped back free-to-play version of last year's installment, dubbed Forza Motorsport 6: Apex, coming to Windows 10 this spring.

Re: FM6 General Discussion
Whilst the idea of it running on PC has obvious advantages (My fantec wheel *should* work right ?) reading the text I can see a downside.
So 2 cars (A 2cv and a mini metro) and 1 track (An oval probably)
Granted that is a cynical view - but if its F2P you just know that there will be micro-transactions.
That said, if FM5 had been free with some tracks and cars and the micro-transactions it probably wouldn't have been so bad. Kinda like "Here#s the base game - but instead of 200 cars, 150 of which you simply don't want you pick the cars you want". With a well planned pricing model on the transactions it maybe wouldn't have been so bad.

Re: FM6 General Discussion
I don't think the Porsche pack is that good value for your money. as you only get 5 racing cars and 4 off them are old.
1. 919 Hybrid 2015
2. 911 GT3 RSR 2011
3. RS Spyder Evo 2008
4. 911 GT1-98 1998
5 AG 962C 1987
There are no 911 Cup cars and no new GT3 or GTE cars also the pack on FM6 cost more than it did on FM4 which had 30 cars not 20 which FM6 has.

Re: FM6 General Discussion
theres a rivals/league event happening today which involves using the Super trofeo lamboghini....... the prize is getting the new Hurican super trofeo car.
ATM were running the old car in the TEC, is it possible that if the LMP team gets the car, could you take a look and do a check on it

While the above is true, dont' forget we still have two more packs coming. A later released March pack and the much touted 'Top Gear' pack

It also depends on Turn 10 if they will add some Porsche in the next car pack......they may say the Porsche pack could be the only thing they use for Porsche

That depends on your point of view. Not everyone is soley interested in race cars. I personally prefer the production cars, especially the older ones. You also get an entire module focused on the history of Porsche, and the VIR track. For me it's a very good value.
I'm also pretty sure the pack cost 20$ in FM4 as well.
Re: FM6 General Discussion
I'm loving the Anthology section. Having Derek Bell talk you through some of the cars he's experienced is brilliant as well.

I agree with you on the older production cars Mako, however I miss the 73 Carrera.
But I think the FM4 Porsche pack was $30 or $40, not $20. Had it been only twenty bucks, I'd likely have not waited as long to buy it for my third console. And even then, it didn't come with an epic circuit, as VIR is simply brilliant.
Re: FM6 General Discussion
I have to agree on the Carrera Mikey. The car was a handful, but a beast once you got the hang of it!
You may be right about the price, maybe it was 30$. It didn't come with a track but it did have 30 cars I believe.

Re: FM6 General Discussion
Ah but you can't have a clubsport race in the boot of a 911
I think it's a shame we didn't see a few more contemporary race cars make the cut but that's more than balanced with the excellent work in the Anthology and the fact we have VIR which is a very challenging and fun track. Kinda like a stretched Oulton Park I guess. It's definitely better than getting three different liveries for a Carrera Cup car and counting them as different cars!
Seems not to be the way of things quite so much in FM6 DLC

Re: FM6 General Discussion
with the top gear pack out now, a friend of mine reminded me that turn 10 normally keep doing DLC till the next game comes out. so do we think we get more DLC since we heard nothing bout Forza Horizon 3 atm

FM5 dlc went nearly a year, if memory serves, until FH2 dropped. I sure do hope we get more racecars for a Motorsport title before they stop

2016 Camaro SS
2017 Focus RS
McLaren P1 GTR
Ferrari 641
Part of the Hot Wheels car pack due out today. Along with a couple Hot Wheels themed filler cars, imo have no need in a Motorsport title

Re: FM6 General Discussion
I find it interesting that Grid 2 made it to backwards compatible before a Forza title. Kind of says something......
Re: FM6 General Discussion
theres a new update which features ALOT of stuff
This update to Forza Motorsport 6 is our largest and most significant content update to date. Here’s a closer look at the new features and how they will make the racing experience better for all Forza 6 players:
HUD Proximity Arrows – New on-screen HUD arrows will provide players with information on cars in close proximity. Especially useful for players who prefer to use cockpit or hood perspective when driving, these optional HUD proximity arrows indicate surrounding traffic and will give players that extra chance of avoiding costly wrecks.
aswell as the Nascar pack
Drafting and Drivatars – Making the most of the draft is more important than ever in Forza Motorsport 6. Now, players will be able to feel the intense effects of the draft on their cars’ performance as they fight for every inch at close quarters. In addition, Forza Motorsport 6’s Drivatar opponents have been refined to manage the intricacies of tight pack racing at high speeds, where every inch counts.
Quick Stop – In racing, victory has always required quick reflexes. Forza 6’s new Quick Stop feature means that strategy will play a bigger role than ever. In Quick Stop race mode, all cars are required to take at least one mandatory pit stop before the end of a race. As the race unfolds, choosing an early or late lap for your Quick Stop can be the difference between winning and losing.
Rolling Starts – Now players will have the option to select a rolling starts option for races. Rolling starts offer an exciting alternative to traditional standing starts, giving the players the chance to experience the thrill of green flag starts at speed. Rolling starts also allow the grid to spread out, in turn reducing the number of first-corner accidents.
New Damage Option – For Forza players that love endurance racing, we’ve added a brand new damage option – cosmetic damage with fuel and tire wear. This option is ideal for players who want to experience the challenge of racing long distances while their fuel burns down and tires gradually lose grip, without having to worry about a single crash disabling their car and ruining their race results.
Multiplayer Le Mans – Le Mans has returned to online multiplayer! For the first time in Forza Motorsport 6 players will be able to race on Le Mans’ Old Mulsanne and Full Circuit ribbons in multiplayer hoppers and Leagues.
