Re: Lap Times
For those who haven't chosen a GT car yet, I just made a Viper that did a 1:43.731 with time left to get. I highly recommend it!

two days into having the game now at a 1:45.042 hoping to keep going down from there 🙂🙂LMR Harmonic wrote:Joito04 wrote:1:45.6 within one day of having the game
I see Joito's greasiness has carried over from the 360!

Re: Lap Times
I knew that Macca was fast. I barely put any work into it and had splits for a low 44. I drove the iRacing version last year in the 24 Hours of Daytona, good times.

Re: Lap Times
1:29.5 in the R18 after 4 laps with a bone stock tune with no aero. It needs a slight nerf.

Re: Lap Times
1:29.9 with a 5% front grip handicap. That seems a bit better considering it saves a pit stop over the Rebellion and 3 over the Nissan.

Probably not, but the Audi is definitely too quick.

Think I need to run some laps with you to find out where you're gaining all that time!

Agreed. That is (comparitve to times I've been setting) some alien pace.

Please don't nerf as bad as the BMW in TCC... It'll just cause more unhappy drivers in the long run

The BMW was proven to be just fine after the nerf. But no worries, it's too late to change the build now. However, we will be paying very strict attention to the car at the other tracks since they're balanced per track,

That BMW was atrocious... But tbf I do think the R18 has a slight upper hand with it being AWD

The BMW was a half second faster than the Civic before the change. It's sorted now! 24s on Atlanta sound good to me.
As for the Audi, the advantage is in its mid range acceleration. The car is the smallest bit slower than the Rebellion in terms of lap times, but as it stands, it'll beat a Rebellion on a long run due to needing one less pit stop.

Re: Lap Times
The Rebellion does 9 with 1% fuel left going into the pits. The Audi easily did 10 for me, and I wouldn't be surprised if some teams stretched it to 11. Running 10 laps saves it a pit stop over the Rebellion.

Re: Lap Times
Stretching to 11 doesn't really work - you hit 0% coming into the chicane, so lose any time you'd gain with the 0% fuel stutters (and horrible pull to the left!) getting from there to the pits, plus you'd most likely still need a splash and dash to finish. You'd also become a bit of a liability on the fastest section of the track, risking a big shunt.
Using round numbers; let's say you're doing 1m 30s, you'd be looking at 80 laps in a 2hr stint. Assuming you go a full tank before pitting (i.e. not pitting early for tyres/damage), the Audi would have to pit 7 times every 10 laps (last one at 70 laps), or 7 every 11 (last one at 77 laps). The Rebellion would need to pit 8 times (last one at 72 laps), and the Nissan 11 times every 7 laps (get used to being in the pits guys!!!) with the last one coming on lap 77.

I'm having a bit of a problem with the Audi R8 Understeer Problems. Maybe some one could help me out. Either reply in here, or PM me. I feel i'm losing a Second or 2 because of it.

Re: Lap Times
Try an open diff, more camber the car has too much grip so make sure it doesnt have rear aero.STALLIONO wrote:I'm having a bit of a problem with the Audi R8 Understeer Problems. Maybe some one could help me out. Either reply in here, or PM me. I feel i'm losing a Second or 2 because of it.

Keep in mind that the stints are only 1h45. I've gotten the Audi into turn 4 of the oval on lap 11 before running out, but it's still probably a bad idea to run it out like that. I think when I calculated each car's number of pit stops, I had the Audi at 6, the Rebellion at 7, and the Nissan at 9--10. We would've had the Skyactiv if it wasn't able to make it on 3-4 stops
As for the Audi R8, try no rear aero, some on the front, 100% accel diff, and some slight positive rear toe. That improved the car a lot for me in terms of understeer.

Aha I didn't spot the 1.45 stint length. So that'd be more like 70 laps, so 6 Audi, 7 Rebellion, 9 Nissan by my reckoning. Stretching the Audi to 11 laps still doesn't really work as you'd run out of fuel on lap 66, so still needs a 6th stop.
