Season 4 Suggestion Box

We got this down pat but there's always room for improvement with this series. What do you guys like? What don't you like and why?

It's your series as much as it is mine guys and we can improve on it. I'm working on next season calendar and it is a long one but will be spread out over the course of the year from January to about this time next year. Give us all a break between races and allows us to something fun in between as opposed to turning around and turning for the race 2 seconds after the previous race ended. So here you guys can voice your opinions and let me know what we can do different.

I think the calendar is the main part. This season has had some 'experimental' tracks that are outside the norm and I like how it's played out.

As staff I'll always be with Louis and the others looking at how things work but looking from both perspectives everything was pretty slick, punctual and the cars are great.

I am taking the best of what we have had in the last 2 seasons for tracks and using the best

Indy Oval 💙
Indy GP Classic
Monza Alt
Watkins Glen
Sonoma
Long Beach
Road America

Track I want added:
Homestead

Other than that, IndyCar is running in prestine condition. Nothing to the rules, and start time I could do the current or old time. I don't mind at all.

Yeah this series seems really good. The only thing I've got to say is that I second the Homestead Oval idea. It's too bad the season was already halfway over when I found out about TORA. Really pumped to try and run the full schedule next season.

Tascar has proven why we arent running stock tunes on the ovals

I can say all these tracks are going to be in there next season. Indy gp will be determined based on which of the two lay outs race the best. So come october 1st we'll find out

How soon will the next season start?

Lookking at january because ill need a sanity break plus a lot of planning for not only this series but another series ill be running

Awesome. Will the Indy Oval be an actual 500 miler?

In the past we had included the indy 500 as part of the season this coming year in may the 500 will be back but as a standalone event. The saturday before that race will be the indycar series season 4 support race. Where the field will be unlimited in size should we have that many entries and no one from the championship sits out for in case the dont qualify

I think that's a pretty solid lineup to work with. I don't know how the front-runners feel about Road Atlanta, but I'd like to see that track on the calendar again. I do like Erebus' idea of adding Monza GP (I hope that's what he meant by Monza), as that track is super fast. I'm not sure if the two chicanes will prove to be an issue considering what happened at Lime Rock in season 2. Homestead sounds like a good idea (if people actually have the DLC; I'll have to get another XBLive card next time I go shopping). It's really a shame T10 removed Sedona from FM5/6 so we no longer have a short/medium oval track in game. I'll be happy with whatever you come up with in the end. Keep up the great work Louis!

Road Atlanta was alright, we had that in season 1. But it suffered from a similar thing like Silverstone just gone: the fast sections are fast and the car just doesn't like them. Coupled with the draft wash you get in the first sector and it doesn't help anything! I wouldn't mind the track but I know there's a 50/50 chance I'll chop it off or crash there!

For me, Sebring ought to feature (there's a reason lol), it's a great track. Maybe Sonoma can be the finale like it is today in the real thing.

Le Mans Bugatti is a great shout. Also I'd love to see a wet track included. Le Mans Bugatti fits that bill, as does Silverstone and maybe Nurb GP. Any of those are good ones.

Please no rain in these cars...

They're fine to be honest! They have more grip than anything, just gotta find the most appropriate track.

Fair enough, I can dig that. I have a small suggestion, though. Why not give out some bonus points for Indy 500 performance?
I'm thinking along the lines of:

Qualifying:                        Race:

Pole - 5 pts                        1st - 25 pts
2nd - 3 pts                         2nd - 15 pts
3rd - 2 pts                         3rd - 10 pts
4th-33rd - 1 pt                   4th - 7 pts
                                       5th - 6 pts
                                       6th - 5 pts
                                       7th - 4 pts
                                       8th - 3 pts 
                                       9th - 2 pts
                                       10th - 1 pt

Not enough points to make it matter as much as a full race, so the non-qualifiers will not take a huge hit in the championship, but still giving out a little something for those who qualify and finish top 10. What do you think?

Yeah it is a little weird, I'll admit. But my thinking was that since IndyCar gives out double points and points for qualifying at the real Indy 500, this would be a way to sort of emulate that, since it wouldn't be fair to give out double for the support race, in case that was the one race you had to miss or something. I can see how it might over-complicate things, though. Just an idea I wanted to throw out.

Regardless of the schedule, I'm looking forward to returning next season/end of this season
