I believe Ben said that the Throwback race would be at Watkins Glen this year

GTR Martijn2702 wrote:With the normal tracks we run this year, can we please go back to running race brakes? Running stock brakes adds nothing to the racing. A race car should have proper brakes, with adjustable pressures. Not everyone likes the same brake pressure, and this gives the people usually run lower brake pressures an advantage over the guys always running pressures like 200%...
I would sure like to see this implemented as well. Even with my brake pedal adjustments on the clubsport pedals, I still only have about a quarter inch of travel with these cars before my brakes lock up. This makes running consistent on road courses very tough.

The logo has not quite yet, I know that it's currently being worked on and should be ready within the next couple of days!
I had assumed the stock tune you uploaded would be used, since I am unaware whether they patched out the pit glitch which was attributed to forcing stock upgrades and tuning.

I will check with Ben - no where does it say that my tune is used, so I imagine it is stock upgrades (will check if the glitch is gone)

This was my understanding as well. I will, however, probably will be putting up stock tunes for people to use.SFM Darkzer wrote:Pit glitch is gone, to my knowledge.

Yes, you can race via PC. Lots of guys I know are already running FM7 off of they're PC.shuyindvk wrote:i can race from PC?

Last season tunes were not forced stock, but uploaded, to prevent desync issues. I might've missed it, but did they patch this problem?

We think so.

Was wondering the same thing.Springaahhh wrote:How is qualifying going to work for the first race at Daytona? Are we just doing standard qualifying procedure (as we do with every other track?) Or is there something else in store?

Details of this are coming in the race event thread that is being published by Ben on Sunday or Monday.

Re: TORA TASCAR Season 8 - General Discussion
Hate to be a Kyle Busch on what I'm about to say, but the tune we are forced to run is kinda like NASCAR taking all possible downforce and grip away. Yes, I'm exaggerating, it's not incredibly loose or full of no grip, but what's the reason behind having a tune that grip-less?

Have you ran it? I ran a few laps on Road America with the mandatory tune and it felt fine to me.

Yes Road America was the first track I tested on and it didn't feel right at all. Honestly doesn't matter, I'll just have to put more time into practicing with it.

Yeah it certainly doesn't handle as well as a car that has been tuned to the track, but the only issue I had at first were the brakes. After I got used to that though, I actually found it quite fun to drive.

The tune (or lack thereof as it is stock) feels absolutely fine. These cars are meant to be difficult on road courses.

Re: TORA TASCAR Season 8 - General Discussion
Do remember that the NASCARS on FM7 are perfectly balanced as they are reskins of each other, so forcing a stock tune just brings it down to Driver Skill. The best drivers can adapt to cars that dont quite handle perfect, and these cars will still have uber close racing anyways.

Yeah I'm looking forward to seeing how mandatory stock shakes things up on the road courses. I'm not naive enough to think that there will be all new names at the front; but will I be able to get by a few more people? We'll see.

Re: TORA TASCAR Season 8 - General Discussion
Also, I have heard that the new update screwed up the pits pretty bad. Apparently, you can now get rammed by an AI driver in the pits and become stuck, unable to rejoin the race. I believe there were a couple of other major issues as well. Is there a possibility that this will cause a postponement of the Daytona race? I wasn't able to find any information about a potential hotfix coming in the next couple of days or anything like that.
