iRacing

Is anyone a member of IRacing? im thinking of joining up as i just got a free pc tower that im going to upgrade to run IRacing and maybe Rfactor too.

At least rFactor is free not subscription. I'd really not go the iRacing route IMO

@ Matt totally agree chaddy serious I racing is a waste of money unless you want to blow a couple of k on a decent pc rig and wheel why waste your money on a substriction get rfactor a lot of effort is put into to r factor mods

iRacing:
+ve's - really well made cars, laser scanned tracks, great orginised leagues
-ve's - beasting computer would be needed, a good wheel is needed, you need to buy all the cars and tracks, the subscription is way too high.

well ma uncle is magic at computers so no problem there and i could start with a 1 month just too see how good it is. oh and im looking at a G27 as i cant find a G25

be prepared to spend up to a grand if not more then.

I've always considered going to IRacing, 3Wide and many others race on it these days but I can't afford to spend stupid amounts of money on gaming.

Well I'm just going to put some of 3Wide's setup here, just so you can see how much it really costs.

And thats without even buying your comp, seat, wheel, shifter, headset, tv etc...

Seriously unless you have money to play with then don't bother.

Just downloaded a trail of rFactor gonna see how my pc puts up with it

As I just got my G27 the day I tried the rFactor demo that came with it. I have to say I wasn't impressed, but I think it was more the demo than anything. I don't hav the mount for my shifter for my playseat yet so need to use the paddles but I couldnt customise the options in the demo. I tried GTR Evo using the shifter an I love the wheel, I so wish MS would let logitech make it work on the 360.

ive got gtr2 and gt evo but ma pc aint quick and cant run them, im looking at this £929 gaming pc. i still really want iracing but maybe not now due to money

Google ''NetKar Pro''. Its a sim that is on par with iRacing, and is used as a base by Ferrari for their simulator. More tracks and cars are being added all the time.

There is also ''Live for Speed'' which is a very realistic and very fun sim with a great online community!
