Its a crying shame to have lost the Super Tourers but by god they were expensive to run and with only Ford, Vauxhall and Honda it wasn't the most diverse of series!!

it's a massive shame that we lost the Super Tourers, but they were overly expensive and the racing wasn't actually that close when you think about it. BTC rules and the S2000's have been fantastic and have been just brilliant i've loved them and i'm really looking forward to the NGTC's

Re: The TORA Random Video Multiplex.
I don't know if its just me, but current BTCC seems more like a national series... Perhaps i'm just looking through rose tinted spectacles, but in the 90's, the BTCC was a big deal, it was Britain's Formula One (In the same way that Aussie V8's are reffered to these days as Australia's Formula One). The cars were works of art, the crowds kept coming, and the fields were filled with pure talent, like test pilots hired by the worlds leading car makes to do battle across Britain.
As much as I love the BTCC these days, it just all seems a bit... well, its not like the BTCC at all (in the pre 2001 sense).
I just wish the BTCC meant something more again. When I watch it on ITV, it just doesn't feel like it should... The live coverage is amazing, but you know, a little slick production, nice graphics and quality race build-up wouldn't go a miss. I also miss the Sprint/Feature format with the NASCAR style Pit-Stops. It just needs to stop advertising itself as CRASH BANG WHALLOP banger racing, and get back out there with a more professional international outlook.
Anyway, rant over.

Re: The TORA Random Video Multiplex.
I feel exactly the same Nicky. BTCC was THE tin top racing to watch and THE tin top racing to be in. It was a bid deal worldwide. If you were a car manufaturer you wanted to be in a) F1 b) Sportcars or c) BTCC. That was how big it was. All the big touring car racers wanted a part of it and thos are the years I grew up watching motorports. BTCC and late 90s F1 defines motorsports for me at it peak and it's just never the same nowadays. F1 is starting to feel exciting again, but BTCC is a long way off for capturing it's former glory.
All the countries need to get together and combine the BTCC, STCC etc etc and get rid ogf the waste of time WTCC and make a real racing series that is full of manufacturers and top touring car drivers.

Re: The TORA Random Video Multiplex.
No contest. The first. Especially when Murray comes on after a brief pause and welcomes you to wherever it is they were racing in the late 90's... Those were the days.
When Formula 1 was just a racing series, not a mobile country with its own foreign policy.

Re: The TORA Random Video Multiplex.
Nicky, I like the original, and the new one, the middle one was vain and pretentious, and how dare they replace the original one with it!! I liked the new one because they got rid of the middle one lol

Re: The TORA Random Video Multiplex.
I really don't see why F1 cars couldn't race at Barber, sure, it would never happen because apparently cars need miles of run-off, and the rich people who go to the races want swanky bars and hotels, but Barber is a fantastic modern circuit which has an FIA 1T grade, like Portimao and Jerez.
