Those TDI's looked like proper race cars! 2008 was a great year, the last fully works battle between GM and VAG.

More obscure BTCC years now! 2003, when the BTCC had works entries from Vauxhall, Honda, MG, Proton and Team Dynamics with a Peugeot. This was the last year of full BTC-T and Production before the S2000 invasion of 2004. People often forget that the majority of the Touring Class in 2003 and 2004 was actually Manufacturers with actual paid drivers!

Consider self very lucky to have seen pretty much the whole proper super tourer era. (maybe I'm just old!) Every year from 1995-2008
Started going to touring cars at Thruxton in 1995, saw Frank take the title in the mighty Audi in 1996. Utter Renault dominance in 97 and the emergence of Rydell in the snowy Easter weekend of 1998.
Always seemed to have REALLY hot weekends when we went to the Summer meetings at Thruxton when they actually bothered to have a full calendar and go to some circuits more than once. 99 was a scotcher!!
Last touring car meeting I went to was probably Gio's tough title battle with Jason at Thruxton with JP burnt and toughing it out. Awesome weekend and the atmosphere was incredible.

I never did get to see Supertourers in action, the first race I went to was Knockhill during the 2002 season. I remember being blown away as a kid by it! Just being in that busy paddock as all the Touring Cars were being pushed out onto the track.. I was loving it. I remember watching the sprint race from the outside of Duffus, which was where Warren Hughes went off.

And, as always with Knockhill, it was wet, windy, cold and the action on track was brilliant.

This was my first ever race, yes I was only 4. My dad's mate used to own a Fina garage in my home town so when he started getting offered free tickets, he was hardly going to refuse.

This is probably where it all started for me. Tarquini's 2 wheel moment near the end was immense.

First MotoGP race I ever watched. Needless to say, I was hooked!
