Re: The Film Thread
Film Trailers?
or
Entire Films?
This one sends me to sleep.
Anyone who's seen "The Jackal" with Bruce Willis and Richard O'Gere (Oh Dear) this is the Original.
Its set in France, and all but 1 of the main charachters are actually French Actors, they are either putting on an "'allo'allo" style accent, or vaguely doing accents at all, the rest of them you may recognise from old episodes of Porridge or other 70s tv and Film. Derek Jacobi being the most obvious.
FAIL line from the beginning of the film "I'm a General, no soldier will aim there gun at me" only in the immediate next scene to be shot by firing line.

Re: The Film Thread
Trailers please, I thin it's a bit dodgy copyright wise uploading full movies to a forum.
Re: The Film Thread
I did watch 127 Hours and Inglorious Basterds the other day.
127 Hours is not for the squeamish!
And Inglorious Basterds is spoken in French and German for the majority of the film, and you have to turn the subtitles on, because the film doesn't have subtitles straight away.
I can understand French to a certain degree, but I speak absolutely zero German..
I'm a big fan of the Coen Brothers, they made two of my favourite films, Fargo and The Big Lebowski!

I rented the movie on Netflix and I didn't have to activate subtitles. Perhaps its just like that on the Region 2 DVDs?

Re: The Film Thread
The "public domain after X years" rule very rarely applies to feature films and popular music because the owners usually renew the rights, or another company buys them (happens often in the case of music).
Re: The Film Thread
i always see old movies like that in libraries. so i just assumed that they have their right to distribute etc. etc...regardless, i see richy's point.
anyway. no comments on Dr. Strangelove? or the bicycle thief?

Re: The Film Thread
I was flicking through some of my soundtracks yesterday, and as often happens something gives me the urge to rewatch an old favourite. This was last night's choice:
I love the original teaser for this movie (apart maybe from the slight cheesiness of the ending):

The Basis of the first "Driver" Game.
"The Cowboy" is a getaway driver. This is how he got away.

Re: The Film Thread
Still not as good as the Justice League movie would have been (had a long chat with a guy from Weta about all the costumes etc they made before it got put on hold) but I'll take it nonetheless.
Re: The Film Thread
OK Scarlett Johnansson, we get it, your hot, but you seriously need to change your name to soemthing less similar to Stefan Johansson. And stop looking so hot please, its annoying.

Re: The Film Thread
Chris, so not even a Green Lantern: By Darkest Knight collaboration?
By the way , Senna is now available via Zune, how would a viewing party work in that application? Would we all have to buy the film?
