Re: Sport!
International Rules is essentially Gaelic, with some deviations, to allow GAA and AFL teams to play each other.
Unlike Gaelic Football, the ball can be picked up straight from the ground (rather than kicked or scooped into your hands), and tackles between the shoulders and waist are allowed. And I don't understand AFL enough, but it also includes an AFL rule known as ''the mark''.
The differences from AFL are obvious. Shperhical ball and rectangular pitch.

Re: Sport!
yea, i've been playing for 12 years, or 13, and basically, the differences are:
in AFL, you can have numerous bounces as long as its once every 15 metres, but in gaelic, (i think) you can have one bounce until you have to dispose of it, either to another player, or handball to yourself. and yea, as you said nicky, the mark in AFL, once the ball travels 15 metre by foot, no contact with the ground or another player and is caught, its a mark. usually in gaelic, its not a mark, its play on, but in international rules, it is a mark

Re: Sport!
Absolute heart break.
Some amazing saves by Fraser Forster, some fantastic tackles by Victor Wanyama, some great breakthrough runs by Gary Hooper. We almost hung on for a draw at Camp Nou..
Then Jordi Alba tweaked it in with 30 seconds remaining. I nearly had a heart attack. Stressful game to watch! Fraser Forster denied Barcelona time and time again. Well over ten shots at goal, and just two slipped in.

You're quite right, who'd have thought we'd have done so well this year in the UCL? Hopefully we'll have a crack at the Europa League later this season. It just goes to show, never count Celtic out. There will be a massive financial boost for the club out of all this, which means that we can hopefully come back even stronger next year.
@Vettel#1 - Aye, Celtic fans aren't too common here on TORA. I think this means we're now even on the two known Rangers fans circulating on these boards
Glasgow is definitely going to be buzzing in a fortnights time though. No doubt about that!

Re: Sport!
I'm not a Celtic fan, per se, but I absolutely cannot stand Barcelona (or Madrid, really). I was hoping that Celtic would win just to put Barca in their places.

Re: Sport!
Ooooft. Unfortunately I was working, so I didn't get to watch the game.. But, aye, we toppled the mighty Barca! Wanyama and Watt scoring the goals for Celtic, with Messi scoring in injury time. Almost a win on aggregate!

Barcelona's first defeat of the season. Unbelievable!

Giants are playing the Begnals tomorrow in what should be an easy win. Kick off is at 1PM Eastern/6PM GMT.GRT 458Italia wrote:i know its not college footy, but when do the giants play?
Got them as 4 point favourites in my accumulator bet this week.
Going big with a ninefold accumulator this week as opposed to my normal fivefold.
Won 2 out of the last 3 weeks to get £220 (not bad when I only put £5 on a week)

Re: Sport!
MK Dons have been Drawn against AFC Wimbledon in the 2nd Round of the FA Cup.
MK Dons, a team that was once known as Wimbledon FC, before being bought out and relocated to Milton Keynes.
AFC Wimbledon, a team that was formed when the fans of Wimbledon FC refused to show up to an MK Dons game.
This...
...will be good.
Hope AFC hammer them.
