TORA GT S9 - General Discussion

That I don't mind, in fact from a quick look I quite like. I nearly let it at 756, but it was half a second quicker with 1 more PI!

I'd like the McLaren to be competitive to get a nose into TORA TV, but if its a choice of slightly too slow, or too fast, I'm going to have to go for slightly slower.

The other option is have it as stock, and increase the PI of EVERYTHING ELSE by 1/2 PI!!!!!!

If you can't take the hint, it was a joke, and certainly not happening

yea the mclaren is very good till, if you like a easy car to drive

Its a great car. Probably qualifying quite well, but may not be so great during a race when other cars can overtake easily

so in short its a good car but it wouldnt be good in a race,looks like my car choice has been sorted then.
*quick side note i may have to miss the first two rounds due to racing in a another series but i will race in this from round 3 on wards*

Can I double check the rules on missing qualifying please guys. The rules state that due to high numbers anyone who is not present by Q2 will not be allowed to race. Is this still the case given the predicted turn out or will it depend on the night?

qually 1 will be to set the lobbies, late comers will join the back for qually 2 is used to sort the grid order, techincally the race lobby, and if its already been organised for the numbers avilable when sorting Q2 there will not be any room available.

Example, 60 people, 4 lobbies of 15 for Q2 and the races. 2 people want to join after Q2 (of which takes 5mins anyways), theres no space left

with all the effort i've put into my tune for this series and everyone else I assume. Would'nt it be a good idea to do a leaderboard series. where we tune a car to it's max pi for a class. For example f-200 on hockenheim and see how many people we can get in the top 100. I would imagine it would be very competitive with lot's of records smashed in the process. I know were racing a GT series and there has to be restrictions but these cars will never challenge the leaderboard. I would imagine a max pi class series would spark alot more interest and competition. in the long run it would lead to some awesome tunes available on the storefront for people whom can't tune and want to drive the best. just an idea

And besides, If these cars were capable of top 100's they'd already be up there.

obviously not for this series, this is GT. I was thinking of possible future series. where the competition doubles due to the leaderboard factor. 150 participants WOW, Great turn out, may it continue.

I think the problem with that is you'd probably get a bunch of hotlappers in the series that don't perticularly know how to race well with other cars.

It works both way's. they get their hotlap and you win the race. win/win

I have a 2 rulebook questions:

1): I was wondering what the definition of overtake is.

The reason I ask is if on a start, if I get along side of someone before the line, but do not improve my position (i.e. his nose is still in front of mine), is this considered overtaking before the line? Must we stay single-file before the start line, or can we utilize any moment we may have and pull along side the car in front?

2): May I change my cars build from race to race?

The Merc GT3 allows me a few variations of rim weight vs. tire width. Depending on the track it is advantageous to change this from time to time. Is this also allowed within the rules?

Every series rules are different. I just want to make sure I stay within the rulebook.

1) You're fine to get as far alongside as you can, before taking the position. If for instance, you're meant to start 2nd, and just before the line you take 1st by a whisker, that's not allowed and will be penalised or at the very least you have to back off and immediately allow him back though, therefore ruining your momentum.

2) That's completely fine. As long as you're within the PI limit for that car, you can run any variation.

Lol, Chris must be frustrating. Also, would like to add if on race day if the TORA staff is short on host for qualifying or lobby host I'd be willing to help you guys out. Have experince as a host over at the VM.

Lol you have no idea! I am not the most patient of people, and can be quite snippy/verging on rude when I get annoyed, so I'm having to constantly bite my tongue at the moment!!
