Endurance fever

Having participated survived enjoyed teh hell out of the TORA 24H LeMans, I am now addicted to the whole endurance racing thing.

Late last night, there was a bit of discussion in B Lobby about a 24H Touring Car event. At the right track, that could be awesome... Mugello, Suzuka, Road Atlanta would be excellent venues for such a race.

This afternoon, as I lay awake too tired to sleep, my thoughts turned to a little discussion on these forums about a V8 Supercar enduro. Similar to the Bathurst 1000k, but seeing as there is no Mt Panorama Circuit in Forza, Laguna Seca would be the place to do it, as it has many similar characteristics to the famed Aussie circuit. I see four 250K stints, shared between two drivers per car, as is the real life 1000.

These are just the thoughts of a sleep deprived enduro junkie that hopes others out there in TORA World share his recently diagnosed mental illness.

The nearest TORA has come to doing a Bathurst esque race has to be the one that was raced around Camino Extreme.

OOOH, me likey the Thunderhill idea. That race features cars on the Clubman Cup level, in other words smack in the middle of my comfort zone.

Would love to see an endurance race using 50s/60s/70s sports cars around Nordschleife or Old Le Mans. Or mabye a series of 1hr races around Top Gear Outer and have our own Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Better, ever done a 12 man Multi class with 4 classes at the full top gear circuit with collisions on full its epic with the double cross over, have a video on my sf for people to see (will b on soon) funny as. What about 4 class Multi class (LMP1, GT2, A and C) 1 hr around Camino mini, talked about it before setting the grid there for stint 11 last night it's good fun haha, cheers heaps for the enduros guys and like others I'm hooked on them now

Use old MSA TORA GT spec cars to have as the GT class.

Then for the DP class, I suggest using Moslers and Joss' up to R2 class with a power restriction and a specfic build in lure of the Daytona Prototypes we don't have in game.

As for the track, you could use Sunset Raceway (not reverse)

Would also love to see a 24hr Nordschleife with vintage LM cars in one class and GT in the other. Seeing old P4s and GT40s out there with Moslers and McLarens would be a sight to behold.

Know what you guys mean regarding addiction to enduro - I actually think that was the most fun I've ever had playing a video game.

At the start of the year we had 6 full endurance races planned for 2012. We cut that down to 4 races (Sebring, Le Mans, Silverstone and Nordshliefe)

The other two racers were going to be the 24 Hours of Daytona (using Sunset or Indy road course) and the Hockenheim 12 Hours using DTM/N24 cars.

We cut down to 4 as we had no idea the TEC would be this popular and that it takes us months to organise the events and build the, up. Having 4 gives us a chance to concentrate on other series like the GTs and TCC.

Next year we will look at doing a 1000km V8 race and Daytona. We also talked about an Endurance SuperGT race around Suzuka using both GT500 and GT300 cars.

Ohh yeah we forgot the 1000km of Suzuka! That's a great race! Btw, when will the first news be released regarding the 12hrs of Silverstone? I'm already planning a 2 car Porsche entry

The Silverstone details will probablybe released at the end of the month or start of August. Its only in September so it's not really that far away

forgot about the Ultimas, eventhough they look the most like the DP's lol

The only disappointment for me is that the Nurburgring 24 is laps not hours, and single driver not teams. I'd like to participate, but most likely won't be able to.

We may have a change of plans regarding that after the success of the weekend. Stay tuned.

Ohhhh god not the Porsche....should have 2 diffrent car choice !! Well thats if you want me again ?? Hahahaha, after my performance at LeMans i dont blame you if you dont....although first stint wasnt my fault !!

So hope for Britcar we could use FWD in production. Like honda cilvic's ect.

As for a endruance race why not 24hr 2CV race but use VW beetles? Or smart4two cars?
