Re: Endurance fever
I think staff assistance is definitely needed for an endurance race. We couldn't do it on our own, feel free to try prove me wrong the 1000km of Suzuka is probably the most formidable. The track is there, the cars are there. All is needed is a date essentially.
Would love the 12 hours of Hockenheim!

Use old MSA TORA GT spec cars to have as the GT class.
Then for the DP class, I suggest using Moslers and Joss' up to R2 class with a power restriction and a specfic build in lure of the Daytona Prototypes we don't have in game.
As for the track, you could use Sunset Raceway (not reverse)
forgot about the Ultimas, eventhough they look the most like the DP's lol
not sure if it would work out unfortunately, I test drove some cars with the build I invisioned and there would be some GT issues unfortunately
Re: Endurance fever
currently woring on it now, using only Mosler and Joss work really well, and se GT2 cars but with a power and grip handicap (working on that now) and it's working really wellmopar4t4 wrote:mopar4t4 wrote:mopar4t4 wrote:24hrs of Daytona.

Re: Endurance fever
What I originally thought of doing was using the upcoming Season 9 TORA GT cars as the GT class and then using the old Nissan R390 Racespec car as the DP.
Re: Endurance fever
either way, thought of that car too, couldn't b bothered buying it andtrying to get it matched too haha, but if you need any ideas or base lines to work off, there there if need be

The R390 seems to be along the lines of what the Daytone Prototype was inspired from. Logical choice. How does the Porsche GT1 compare to the Nissan R390 in FM4? I think that they are the same era, or was the R390 earlier? Either way, the reason I brought up the Porsche is that there were some Porsche DPs up until recently.

I was soooo p***ed off with myself...in both stints i had incidents although stint 3 wasnt my fault and without the silly mistake in stint 10 i would have done about 232 laps...i was sooooooooooo slow !! But yeah i had to laugh about it as the car was sooo bad !! lol Cracked myself up as well as everyone else in that stint

methinks you need a bit more power for the DP's and more for the GT's. Mosler needs the Rear Wing, just have a separate build for each car, other wise one has certain advantages over the other.
Re: Endurance fever
hey guys, i have almost got te Dayton 24 set as (us a base line for anyone who wants to improve) only 2 classes, DP, split into three (joss/mosler, ultima and Nissan R3900 split to balance the cars and D GT (GT2 cars with some power and handling handicaps)
if anyone wants run a short race to try it out, message me on XBL

Lack of Camaro, Mustang, and RX-8 makes using GT2 cars wrong.

Re: Endurance fever
Rx 8, Camaro, Mustang, 997 GT3, Corvette, and Ferrari 458 are the cars in Rolex GT. And realistically, they would be high S or very very bottom of R3.
Then the Mosler, Ultima, Joss, etc wouldn't have to be upgraded as high either. Low/Mid R2 would be appropriate for DP.

Re: Endurance fever
Same, I'm hoping I can get some help with it so I have more people of different driver skill (and not just AI) so I can get it working better. And as for the camaro, rx-8 etc that was mentioned, we wepuld have to dust off the old season 8 car mods and do that, if that would work? Will work on DP soon, may need some help thoughmopar4t4 wrote:GRT 458Italia wrote:currently woring on it now, using only Mosler and Joss work really well, and se GT2 cars but with a power and grip handicap (working on that now) and it's working really wellmopar4t4 wrote:mopar4t4 wrote:mopar4t4 wrote:24hrs of Daytona.

Re: Endurance fever
I don't know if there should be another 24h on the cards, unless it's Daytona/Sunset Peninsula. These should be big events in TORA that only rear their head annually. Reason probably being as Richy said they take a lot of preparation to organise and manage (and also the real race happens only once a year anyway).
Saying that, I'm sure the TEC can be expanded, maybe comprising of 5/6 12h? We've got Sebring, Silverstone & Nurburgring already, I'm sure other TORA specialties can happen with REAL challenging tracks such as Mugello & Suzuka (which would be awesome).
As ever, the staff are the ones who organise it and do it so well, but maybe a special team of TEC staff should be deployed? Or at least an extra person or two to collect entries, answer any questions, administrate etc.

Re: Endurance fever
I'd be happy to go PI balance a few cars for a Rolex GT class, as well as investigate some cars for DP.
Although I think that a 458 + Suspension, cage, brakes, tyres, and downforce should be the benchmark PI for the DP cars.
And look at this, I found a total gem for the Daytona 24 specs regarding cars and upgrades:

EDIT--and here, I found the complete specifications for DPs, too:

Re: Endurance fever
@ Bli33ard, I rather agree that LM should be the "big one", but a whole year is a very long wait, so a January/February Daytona 24 @ Sunset would fill that need.
Other than that a 6-12 Hour enduros using co-drivers at Sebring, Nurburgring and Silverstone sound great, but I have yet to do one of those races.
The other ideas that I've heard tossed about, one-offs such as an Aussie V8 Supercar 1000k and a Clubman based 24 at Laguna Seca could be fun as well, and as long as they aren't taken as seriously as the LM was, they shouldn't require nearly as much staff work.

Not sure what cars actually do the 1,000km of Suzuka, but a mix of the JGTC 300/500 cars might be interesting as they're pretty balanced out the box right?

a long time ago it was World Sports Cars that did it, early 90's i believe.
mid 90's i think it became part of the all japan grand touring championship (JGTC)

we've got a list of GT500 and GT300 cars there.
