Richy59 wrote:Regarding other Endurance races outside of our already planned ones I don't think we will be able to help. We put so much time and effort into both Le Mans and Sebring and with such huge fields and the large workload we already have with running TORA, the 3 series here and taking the time to do all the media stuff you guys love seeing I cannot see us being able to fit in running another Endurance race with Silverstone coming soon and quite a few things we have planned for the rest of the year. (that we can't speak about yet)
We are only human and whilst creating the content you see here at TORA being our hobby and passion we need to have our own time to do the other things we want to do, and to spend time with our families as well. We don't get paid for this, so please bare that in mind when asking for so many different series and to ask us to commit so much time and effort outside of what we already have planned.
We are taking these suggestions seriously though, so expect to see the TEC expand from four rounds next year. For now, can we just please focus on the GT, ISCC and TCC series and our upcoming Britcar 12hrs.
Agree with Richy here all but Silverstone 12 hours is going to be great

Richy59 wrote:At the start of the year we had 6 full endurance races planned for 2012. We cut that down to 4 races (Sebring, Le Mans, Silverstone and Nordshliefe)
The other two racers were going to be the 24 Hours of Daytona (using Sunset or Indy road course) and the Hockenheim 12 Hours using DTM/N24 cars.
We cut down to 4 as we had no idea the TEC would be this popular and that it takes us months to organise the events and build the, up. Having 4 gives us a chance to concentrate on other series like the GTs and TCC.
Next year we will look at doing a 1000km V8 race and Daytona. We also talked about an Endurance SuperGT race around Suzuka using both GT500 and GT300 cars.
I dont know if it's discussed but I 've talkes with Morphader about that you guys maybe can set a championship in endurance racing with LMP and GT's.
You choose your car in the beginning of the season and every 2 months there is a endurance race.
There are a lot of tracks suitable for 12/24hrs races.
Le Mans
Road America
Cataluyna
Indy
Sedona
Sebring
Hockenheim
Silverstone
There maybe more but these tracks has a lot of room to pass another car.
Most of us were lyric after the Le Mans race so I think that if you could organise something like this it would be a great success.

Re: Endurance fever
We discussed the length of our TEC in our podcast either last week or the live one the week before. We would like to do more, however having only these 4 this year has generated a huge amount of interest and people then build up to it and get excited by it. If we were to extend the season for more races, it would take away from the spectacle and suspense of waiting for the next one.
We may consider extending the season and having a real championship based around it at some point, however we have also enjoyed mixing up the cars Silverstone and there will be a slight change for Nurburgring as well. You don't see LMP cars tearing around Silverstone or the ring do you?

Re: Endurance fever
I really prefer the fast cars that's true.
But if it comes to a championship with several races I think you should stick with the car you are using the first race and not switch between classes.
I would have loved to race in the ISCC but it is one hour later in Holland so When the event ends, it is in the night and I have to get up early the next day....

Re: Endurance fever
If you took all the 24 hour races this year and put them in the same championship it would be difficult to run a virtual version on Forza because only about 3 or 4 of the events have the same cars in them.
I think the current TEC calendar is perfect, Sebring in March, three months later where else are we going to go but Le Mans? and then another three months we've got Britcar, and then a perfect way to end the year with the now standard 24 laps of the Nordschleife, and thats three months after britcar!
The spec of cars for Sebring and Le Mans are more or less the same, Then they're completely different for Silverstone and the Nurburgring, I guess the GT3 - GT 620 - Clubman formula will remain for the 24 laps.

Re: Endurance fever
Nurburgring won't be 24 Laps now and will be an 8 Hour event like we have done throughout the rest of this year. Car list wise, it will be similar and the TGT cars will be the top class once again.
Re: Endurance fever
Nurburgring WILL BE EPIC!!!!!
Richy, will there be some kind of Championship table put together for the endurance events?

Re: Endurance fever
I'd love the Britcar formula to be applied to a TORA endurance series, with 2-3 series races throughout a year with the same teams/cars etc and you can't change car etc that'd be awesome!

Unless you choose the wrong car.
Re: Endurance fever
Just thinking... I actually like doing not just a different car, but a different class each time I race an Endurance event.
Re: Endurance fever
If the cars are to be similar for the Nurburgring 8 hours, then it would be a great way to test and experiment with cars.

Re: Endurance fever
I understand these events take and effort to setup but a few 6 hour events through the year would be nice
