2012 Britcar 24h at Silverstone (21-23 September)

Hi guys, shoot me if there's already a thread. From the official website:

The Britcar 24hrs - the only 24hr race for GT and Saloon cars in the UK, which is now firmly placed in the British motorsport calendar as the race to attend, as a spectator or competitor. With growing grid numbers from all around Europe, and with top International teams competing, the Britcar 24hrs at Silverstone is the place to be, racing twice around the clock on the circuit lauded as the 'Home of British Motorsport', and the British Grand Prix. Going into its sixth year (it was cut to a recession-determined six hours in 2009), the event is growing each year at an astonishing rate.

TORA staff will be trackside and I myself am planning to go. What I want to know is:

- Simply, are you going
- Camping?
- WHOLE weekend (inc. Friday)
- Transport blah blah

I've never done a 24h event before but I have been to F1 at Silverstone the whole weekend (literally Wednesday - Sunday) countless times. Someone able to help me out with more info?

If theres an influx of TORA members going to the 1st-Tickets campsite behind Copse, then If you say your with TORA they'll group you together in the same area.

I'm in the marshals campsite behind Copse. If you've never been it's a truly fantastic event and a 'must go'.

UM, no one has said when they are arriving at the circuit. I'm going by myself so I don't want to arrive with no-one there haha

The Campsite doesn't open to the public until the Friday I don't think. I could send an email off to 1st tickets and ask if we can get our own section.

I was hoping (in a way) that Woodlands would be providing the accommodation, as they have tasty showers to use...

Also Rich I reckon it will depend on what actual campsite we use - some probably open even on Wednesday.

I'm guessing it doesn't include camping...

Hate living all the way over here :/ only 2 big races here now, Bathursr (V8's) and Melbourne (F1) and that's only a max of 7 hours :/
Well unless you count the Bathurst 12 hrs, but that's not overly well known :/ I'll get there one year, soon haha

financial issues this year so i cant afford the camping
