Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
@Matt - I am interested in a open test session but if people have signed up and chosen cars isn't it to late?

Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
Test sessions would be good but you would need 3 sessions I think lobby 1 the fastest guys on here lobby 2 the mid pack guys and lobby 3 the slow guys,
This way you get 3 different sets of data from the entire range of testers and participants

Then take your stand. No need to yield to the teams, TORA would be successful without them too. We were in Season 8. We were in ISCC Europe. We don't need to have a bunch of whiney pissants who question any motives you guys have. You guys haven't been known to waver in the past, don't do it now.

At the end of the day Hailfire, this is a discussion thread and quite a few people wanted to share their thoughts and opinions as some of us weren't completely happy, which we have the right to do. Do you really think slagging us off is a good way to help things run smoothly??

Yes and no. It shouldn't come down to a bully-factor from the teams to say "well, if things aren't going to be fixed the way we think it needs fixing, then our clan won't race here!"
With all due respect, you're threatening to slag off TORA, too.

Ok guys, I appreciate the support and the criticism. Please keep this civilised guys.
Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
I haven't slagged off TORA and I have no intention of slagging off TORA. I know it's hard to run a championship which is why some of us wanted to point out a couple of things but apparently that makes us a "Bunch of whiney pissants".

Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
I have no problem with the CQR guys at all. I'm not exactly intending to insult anyone, but there's no need for the uberclans to bully TORA to get their way. If its general concensus from the whole community, then so be it.
But if its mostly just CQR and F4H saying "bend to our desires or we leave," why let them have the muscle to do it?

Definitely the wrong choice of words, but it's compounded anger between this and real-life occurrences on my end.
Just saying "whiners" would have probably been better.

Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
I am verging on locking the thread before this gets out of hand. Please end this discussion now please.
Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
All people wanted was the cars to be a little more balanced. Where in S9 the amount of different manufacturers meant there would be close racing from the front to the back in almost every lobby but now some manufacturers have been removed from the car list, there would probably be some quite sizeable gaps through the field in most lobbies. So if the cars were more balanced then the cars would be closer. Who would want to race in unbalanced cars?
But anyway, Graphix has made some changes and guess what, almost everyone seems happy with it. That's all we were looking for.
Sorry Graphix, I (or better WE) have no intention of this getting out of hand. This is my last post for a while on this discussion.

CQR Cobblepop wrote:This appears to be a good time to interject and make what I think is a really important point.
It's a familiar story when we see a thread descend into what can only be described as a 'punch - counter punch' scenario. It's easily done and to some degree we're all guilty of it, including myself. The interesting and ironic part of this is that we all have a vested interest in the outcome of such a debate, that is to say that we all want to see the same result. In this instance, it would be the desire to attain an equilibrium amongst a choice of cars.
The reason I bring this up is because I think it's easy to get lost within the embittered exchange which is so often prevalent in a discussion of this type. What I'm trying to say is that there is no hidden agenda when these concerns are raised. Nobody is looking to circumvent the rules, gain an unfair advantage or simply stick the boot in. All we ever wish to see is a fair and balanced competition which is first and foremost fun to be a part of.
Now, my final point - and I can't emphasise this enough - I don't wish to be the poor sap who tries to mediate in a healthy discussion such as this. All I'm trying to do is elucidate the point that nothing that has been said is designed to be antagonistic or detrimental to the efforts of others. Whether it be those who construct these events or those who merely participate, we all put in a relative amount of work and it would be counter-productive to jeopardise the time spent by simply throwing around ill-conceived notions and ideas.
I'm re-posting/quoting this because despite what I say in the first line, this really does seem like an appropriate time to make the statement.

Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
I'll back out. I just don't like these scenarios at all.
Like I said above, shows what I get for posting angry. My intent wasn't to walk into the thread, kick someone in the nuts, and walk out. I just saw something I didn't take well and, combined with my fury from offline events, transgressed into punching the first sod who stood in my way.
Unfortunately this was CQR and, more specifically, Daniel for being the nearest person to me. Didn't mean to radically insult a whole people, but I did have the intent of not liking their ideals.
I've got a 3-hour road trip coming up trapped in the back seat of a Honda Accord Hybrid with a 13-year-old boy, so I'll be out for a while.
Have fun, gents.

Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
Yeah guys, please refrain from having words with each other. The issue is with TORA and the car list we have put out, the guys are only raising concerns in a public forum, the point of this place, and it is good that it is actually being discussed. It shows that people are concerned about things and care about what is happening. However, we have to make a decision at some point. PIs have been adjusted slightly already, and sign ups will open tonight at 8pm as planned.
We still have a few weeks until the start of the season, we can still evaluate the current car list and continue to test until we deem it suitable.

Seriously, feels like it's getting a bit too heated in here.

Now I know how Stephane Ratel feels.... just without the abject failure and Frenchness
Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
Thank you to Richy, Duncan and Simon for listening to comments, its good to know that serious concerns are being taken onboard and comments and feedback taken into consideration. CQR never made any official request, publically or privately for any car PI adjustments, and everyone of our drivers are entitled to there own opinions and are free to race wherever they like. The minor adjustments have gone some way to addressing our concerns and as a show of good faith, CQR are happy to enter cars in season 10.
