Re: TORA VLN Rules
I'm confused...
"Each race stint will be set to 1 hour 45 minuets, denoted by 2hours. Racing conditions begin from the rolling start all the way to the timer reaching 2 hours, drivers are to stop as quickly and as posable and distance will be recorded."
I don't get this. Can someone dumb this down for me because I am assuming that we race until the two hours is up and then everyones distance is displayed per end race results on screen. Who would we be stopping on track? I don't understand the 1hr45min part and then it says we race until two hours and then stop?
Surely it's easier to form up on the straight down to the pit lane and then get her underway asap. Also the fluctuation between different times each lobby starts is too large in this case.
As a suggestion, just do a one second roll off grid start for the race. It's a clean start and nobody gets bumped or picks up damage when 10+ cars try to squeeze past the pit exit. Just my two cents.
My understanding of what i've quoted shows me there is too large a possibility that someone can keep going when the timer stops? Grab that extra few 100 metres ya know?

Re: TORA VLN Rules
to answer you're question, and someone correct me if i'm wrong: first stint is 1 hour and 45 minutes, so stop with 15 minutes left (lobby set to 2 hours), the second stint is 2 hours with the lobby set till 2 hours and 15 mintes and once there is 15 minutes left, you finish the lap you are one, even if you cross the line with 15 minutes 1 secone left, you get 1 lap more.F4H Chrisupra wrote:I'm confused...

the lobby is monitored, being streamed or not, it is monitored by the modorators and they make sure people dont get extra milage etc.
i think because the track is so large and the pits are after the start line, i believe the rolling start is a good idea, granted that i do agree with you and understand about people crashing but 99% of people adhear to the TORA racing standards so they wouldn't try and win it at the first corner, well we hope that would be the way it happens.
someone please correct me on this if i'm incorrect but i recon thats the way
Re: TORA VLN Rules
I think they mean you stop straight away on track. If you finish your lap it would make everyone have the same amount of miles That wouldn't be right

Re: TORA VLN Rules
yea, in the first stint which lasts 1 hr 45, you stop as soon as the time gets to 15 left, in the last stint, like other TEC races, the lobby is set to 2 hrs 15, once the time gets to 2 hours (15 minutes left) you finish the lap you are on and wait at the first corner (where the ring joins the gp lay out)
Re: TORA VLN Rules
Basically what Italia said:
The first stint will be set to 2 Hours on the clock, but we will be racing to 1 Hour 45 Minutes. Once 1 Hour 45 Minutes have been reached then every car will stop on the track as quickly as possible, and the Lobby Host will ask for everyone's current distance. Once the distance is recorded we will quit back and start the second stint.
The second stint will be set to 2 Hours and 15 Minutes, however we will only race to the 2 Hour mark. Once 2 Hours is reached every driver will finish the lap they are on, where their distance and the time that they crossed the line will be recorded. Every driver must remember the time that they crossed the line, and then meet int the first corner.
This is how we have ran the last 3 TEC races and how we finish our ISCC races, and so far this year it has worked well.

Re: TORA VLN Rules
If it works then I won't argue against it I was more just confused by the wording in the paragraph. Maybe you should copy paste what you said in

Re: TORA VLN Rules
Ive had a very busy 2 weeks but seems i have created some time off fortunately to possibly participate, can a 1 man team doing both stints participate? Or is it mandatory to have 2 drivers?
Its no problem for me to do 2 stints, as long as it is allowed. Im posting it here before applying for registration.

Seems like the stress and panic is creeping in. Thanks for doing this guys and don't panic too much over it. I've done these things before. Come the N8 race I don't mind doing admin work for you guys. It's no problem. I am also available to host in stint 2 if needed tomorrow.
