TEC 2013 - Pre-season Discussion

I thought many good suggestions were made on how to get a more accurate representation of true distance covered, and while being slightly time consuming, I would not want to lose just because the mile marker was somewhere in 100 feet between the person in front and I.

Have asked question ref distance.

Issue is a viable alternative suggestions?

Only the host needs to be set to km btw. He will see everyones results in km even if people qre running in miles.

Well, the RUF would be the closest to a spec Porsche Cup car that we can get without the DLC, which is why I said use the BMW GT3 car.

Also richy said something about not everyone wants to set it in km.
but you can also put the mileage with a 1.609 multiplier. lets say the outcome is 178.765, than it will be 178 km. The .765 will than be a penalty for not putting it in km.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter what people want in this case, it's better to have the results in KM, and only one person in the lobby actually needs to have their HUD set to KM (of course it's better to have two in case of lag outs and stuff) It's more precise, means people can't stay on the same KM as easily, and will promote better racing.

It doesn't, the host can only see the length of the track and not the overall distance travelled because it is a timed race. All we would see when looking at the pause screen is a list of names with something like 8 miles beside each one or 10 kilometres etc

We need to ask for everybody's distances at the end of each stint to record how far they have went, everyone will need to be set to KMs or Miles. If we get a random selection of distances in different units then it's going to cause confusion and it will lead to delays between stints.

It doesn't matter if distance is in Miles or km. Both is not accurate enough. Distance must be in feets or meters.

Ah yes sorry, system was used in another race but we raced until the timer ran out.
Still should be a viable option. However, can the reading not be changed in game when the stint is over? In said race I was sat on the grid and changed my settings in the HUD menu whilst I waited for the roll off delay to get to me and it changed from miles to KM, would this not work at the end of the stint?

I'm not sure I have never tried changing my options during a race. I'll have a look and see.

Race casrs for sure - from the fastest ones and then something else. Need that killer closing speed!!

I've just seen the date for the 24 hours of Le Mans and it's the same weekend as the British Grand Prix (which I'm going to). It's a shame because it's my favourite race on the TEC 2013 calendar.

Nevertheless, I still hope to field two Ferrai's, maybe even a third if we get the drivers!
