TORA MSA World GT Championship Round 1:
Sunset Peninsula
Virtual Aston Martin hit back with force on their return
to TORA GT Racing, with an incredible third place for Cyber Racing's Daniel Anon on
his debut for the team. The result marks the first time an Aston Martin team entry has claimed
a podium since 2011.
Anon crossed the line side by side with the VVV Evonik Audi separated by thousandths of a second, ending
a monumental battle that had lasted between the top three all race long.
Cyber Racing's three other cars also had a good meeting with Satterlee and Siddall
finishing 15th and 20th of 98 starters. Christian Rose was the only retirement
for the team with a late technical issue curtailing his extremely strong performance which
had seen him in fifth place for the majority of the race.
At Beechdean Motorsport it was a similar story with Chad Wilson mixing it with the front runners
only falling back as his pit strategy didn't produce the advantage he had hoped. He would finish the race
in 7th place.
Chris Ford had a quiet race following a late set up change and he finished in 30th place with Maughan
battling amongst the SRT Vipers and Marc VDS BMWs coming home in 49th.
The only failure in the blue and white camp was for Matt Hunter whose race lasted no further than turn 3.
After making up four places off the start, the car stopped soon after. But the Devonian was unphased by the
breakdown stating that the car had felt amazing.
The two virtual Aston Martin Racing squads now head back across the Atlantic for the first
'sprint' event of the series at the Catalunya circuit in Spain. Hopes are high for a continuation of
the form shown in America.
Results:
Cyber Racing:
Anon - 3 - 3rd
Satterlee - 77 - 15th
Siddall - 80 - 20th
Rose - 850 - 84th (DNF)
Beechdean Motorsport:
Wilson - 4 - 7th
Ford - 30 - 30th
Maughan - 305 - 49th
Hunter - 45 - 93rd (DNF)

Well done lads and good luck for catalunya....I personally intend toake a much better impression after a shocking start.
Many congrats guys on the exellent start. Seems you're all doing ok without me, especially in Daniel's case with an exellent podium.
Let's hope this good form will continue for the team & hope Matt and Identity has a better event at Catalunya
