2011 Porsche 997 GT3 RSR Tuning Help
Hello, everyone:
Other than tweaking a tune setup to get the tuning achievement when FM3 and FM4 first came out, I haven't touched tuning. I would always go to the SF, find the tune with a combination of the most downloads and highest rating and drop it in.
Since coming over to TORA, I have been motivated to get my hands (virtually) greasy in the tuning shop to get the most out of my car and tailor it to each circuit we race on. I have used multiple tuning spreadsheets and tuning calculators that I have come across and have what seems to be a very stable, agile, and fast car; however, when I look at the lap times others are putting up, I come up way short. With the -15%, I am getting around 2:09's at Suzuka.
I was wondering if someone out there can take a look at my tune and tell me what they think I could do to improve. I am not looking for someone to simply tweak it and send it back to me but rather show me where I could improve on my tuning and help educate me. As mentioned in the topic title, I am running the 2011 Porsche 997 GT3 RSR, so you will need to Porsche Pack to do it.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
Derek

Done. Thanks. I'll send over the setup once I get home.
It could be my driving, but I've watched some replays and just can't get any more out of the car.

I feel your pain. Using the TCS helps with the car, but you'll lose the power out of the turns. Running 2:07.592 without the 15% power reduction

Yeah. I find I do better without TCS. It doesn't feel like it at the time, but I do pull down faster times.

With Polaris' tuning you'll be in safe hands. His Porsche tunes are top notch

Re: 2011 Porsche 997 GT3 RSR Tuning Help
Hi guys, I have a 2011 Porsche tune on my SF but it was tuned for Sebring and doesn't have the correct build for this series.
What I will do is take a look WhoIsJohnGalt's tune, send back any changes, and also put a setup on the SF which is my Suzuka tune for this car - with the correct build. So anyone who wants it can grab it.

I've put a Suzuka tune for the #17 GT3 RSR on my SF. Just ran a 2:03.7 with it - clean. I have the replay as well if anyone wants it.

Man, Polaris, you would be my hero if I can take a few seconds of my fastest lap so far. I'm going to try it out right now!
Edit; I've already dropped down to a 02:06.761. Nice tune! The grip is really good.
I suppose your time is without the handicap, Polaris? Can you upload the replay to the storefront please? I think it would be very useful!

Hey Polaris, could you send me the tune for Suzuka and Sebring please as your tune is for the #17 car and I am using the #45 as I would swap it over I have brought the tunes anyways as payment.
I tryied adding you but your friends list was full.
Many thanks Steve.

Re: 2011 Porsche 997 GT3 RSR Tuning Help
I would highly recommend that you switch to the #17 Porsche. I'm completely convinced that the #045 model is glitched. First track I ever ran that car was Le Mans... I ran a 3 lap session, finished, restarted again to do another 3 laps (no changes to the build or tune in any way) and the car handled totally differently. It's bizarre.
The #17 is much more consistent and predictable.
However, if you want the tunes for the #045, I will add you later.

Thanks, Polaris! You help is invaluable. I never would have thought that the two different GT3 RSR's are different.
Thanks again!

I've tried your tune and I must say the handling on the car is epic. If I was to criticise anything about it, it would be the gears.
I have a set-up where I can get over 160mph down the straight and it seems to pull alot better as well. I'm still putting better times in with my set-up then yours, but I think If I had you handling I would be smashing my times.

Ok don't listen to me because after getting used to it I'm smashing my times. Epic tune mate, just shame about the wheels

Re: 2011 Porsche 997 GT3 RSR Tuning Help
What are the key differences when tuning this car compared to the other GT cars?
Love the Porsche, but i am no tuner so looking to pick up advice wherever I can!
