Re: TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - General Discussion
Ok I'm going to be the first to bluntly ask why the hell does the Audi get a 5% handicap when it's slower than the Peugeot in a straight line already?
The Honda even has comparable top speeds to the Audi in unchanged form, if you know how to gear it to the power band.
Why change it now of all times? When we thought the consistency and stability was there, and over both events. Why base it off previous race form when the Peugeot's the one to beat here. Maybe we should have parked up and let the Peugeot win at Sebring then you'd have handicapped that.
I'm talking with the team now about after all the scheduling and practice we've done, to have our car castrated and rendered basically obsolete.
Maybe if I kick up a storm like whoever did it to Drake Hellspawn's team last year, maybe I'll get what I want???
Someone PM or tweet me with 'justification.'

I was about to post the same thing. It is so wrong to do this.
We picked the R18 for lemans we drove sebring with that car because of Lemans. All our work is for nothing if you give this car a 5% handicap.
Indeed some justification would be nice.

Re: TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - General Discussion
I'm pretty sure there is a good reason for the changes, as quite a bit of testing has been done.

Re: TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - General Discussion
We have mirrored the ISCC Car List for this upcoming season, which has been signed off by many people from this community, many who specialize in each class. We have Le Mans in the series calendar for ISCC, so having both mirrored has let us carry out tests on shows us the results. The Peugeot almost got the 5% as well, but with the restrictor off as it does not have the same level of grip. The cars haven't been adjusted off the back of Sebring, but based off of the thorough testing of the ISCC. The Audi has the 5% for the ISCC as it covers a variety of circuits.
However, for Le Mans on it's own the Audi doesn't need 5% and I didn't mean to put it on so I will remove it for TEC only.

Re: TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - General Discussion
If, however, justification is given to me for the Audi to remain like the ISCC and be given the 5% then I will take it on board. I know the testing data fro the ISCC season in its entirety and Le Mans specifically, so I can go either way with it. If someone who thinks they are proficient at R1 testing and wants to prove to me which build is better then you have a week.
Re: TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - General Discussion
I do a lot of R1 leaderboards so that's why I was shocked to see for Le Mans the Audi had the handicap. However for the ISCC I'd agree with the enforcement overall for a season.

Re: TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - General Discussion
Can I ask why the Lola Aston is the only LMP1 car with a 5% power handicap? I don't know why you've allowed to bump the P.I to 998 where with this handicap, the lack of straight line speed is gonna be exactly the same as a stock build. And as proven at last years Le Mans race, that's where we were losing a load of time.

Think this change gives it a wee bit more power than last year? (I maybe wrong)

MORE POWER?? Compared with 653bhp in stock form, 5% (35bhp) taken away from 694bhp is about 659bhp so I hardly call that a power boost!!!!

Re: TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - General Discussion
Please read what I have already posted, the TEC is a year long event. Team who entered into Sebring will have one week this Sunday to confirm their entry. If they do not then the spaces will be free'd up for any new Teams or Teams changing cars/names and such. We are keeping the lobby caps as it was difficult enough for us at the 12 Hours of Sebring, now we have 24 Hours coming up.
Re: TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - General Discussion
From Registration:
You must do this for the first week starting this Sunday.
To confirm your participation if you are not changing any details then please post "Team Name - Confirmed"
If you are changing Drivers then please re-post the entire entry.
If you are changing Team Name or Team Car then your entry will be invalid and your space will be opened up to new teams. You will then have to re-apply when general Registration Opens.
You must do this for the first week starting this Sunday.

Re: TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - General Discussion
You are free to swap drivers all you want as long as car and teamname remains the same. You just post a new driver list to confirm the entry.

Re: TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - General Discussion
Are you going to open a new thread for this or do we use this or the stint thread?
