Any interest in a possible Clio Cup Championship??
I'm considering running a Renault Clio Cup Championship at some point.
The cars would be the STOCK 2007 Renault Clio RS 197 (The Non-Downloadable content Clio)
The races would probably be run on Meidum - Full configurations of circuits like the Silverstone National, Hockenheim Short, Sunset Peninsula Short etc. The races would last around 12 laps+ on a circuit of Silverstone's length. May even consider running a reverse grid second race if people like that idea.
So if anybody would be interested in taking part, let me know below and if I get enough response then i'll run it.

Re: Any interest in a possible Clio Cup Championship??
Need more info. Definitely sounds like something great.
Possibly a third tier feeder series for German TCC at some point?

What more info would you need?
I think it'd be fantastic, the Clio Cup in the UK is very good racing (When the drivers don't take each other out) but we'd have none of that here!
And yeah that could work i guess

Re: Any interest in a possible Clio Cup Championship??
Id be interested but say go for med-full tracks.
Some of the shortest variety of track just dont offer up as much dicing and gets a bit folow the leader.
Hope this gets of the ground

Re: Any interest in a possible Clio Cup Championship??
Yeah I'd consider the longer tracks if people think that's the way to go! Also, if anybody would want to help me run it then I'd be very appreciative as I've never run a series before :LL

Re: Any interest in a possible Clio Cup Championship??
I'd definitely be interested - always been a fan of the Clio Cup. I think maybe it could be a mid-week fixture? I don't see anything happening on Wednesdays at 7/8PM, maybe that could be a good'un.
First series you need about 10/12 regulars to get things off the ground, then it will only grow from there!

Re: Any interest in a possible Clio Cup Championship??
That's a brilliant time-slot. When/If i get enough interest I'll probably have it then!

Re: Any interest in a possible Clio Cup Championship??
If it's Wednesday, I won't be able to race as I stay after school on that day most of the time and don't get home until about 4:30 PM EST. I'll still help with all the statistics and what not.

Re: Any interest in a possible Clio Cup Championship??
Id be interested in running in this depending on the race start time and day. TORA did run a Clio cup spec series before.Provided great close racing.

Re: Any interest in a possible Clio Cup Championship??
Well lets say for now that a provisional slot would be 7:00PM on a Wednesday (Not sure which date though).
If I get 10 people interested (We have 5/6 at the moment) then I'll pick a date for a Exhibition/Practice race.

Re: Any interest in a possible Clio Cup Championship??
I'd be interested depending on builds/spec ect.
Would LOVE this to be a non-tuning event, TORA is sorely missing an entry level non-tuning event with just stock cars for people to learn racecraft without having to worry about tuning spreading the field...

My German TCC and Mikey's Friday leagues don't allow tuning.

Re: Any interest in a possible Clio Cup Championship??
What I've done is upgraded the Car and was going to save the setup and tuning and make everybody run that, so everybody is in the same cars.

Re: Any interest in a possible Clio Cup Championship??
List of upgrades:
Aero and Appearance:
Race Front bumper and Rear Wing
Tyres and Rims:
Race Tyre Compound
5Zigen ZR+520 rims
Full upgraded Front and Rear Tyre Width
Platform and Handling:
Race Brakes
Race Springs and Dampers
Race Front and Rear Anti-Roll Bars
Race Chassis Reinforcement and Roll Cage
Race Weight Reduction
Engine and Power:
Race Intake Manifold and Throttle Body
Race Fuel System
So what i'd do is i'd save the setup and then gift it to the participants to ensure we're all running with the same equipment. Therefore keeping close racing

That build does give it some rather significant wheel spin.

Re: Any interest in a possible Clio Cup Championship??
Yeah, but other then that, the tune seems to work well, I've dialled out a little of the understeer that sometimes happens as well.
Do people think that I should use the tune, keep the cars stock, or perhaps a slightly slower tune?

Re: Any interest in a possible Clio Cup Championship??
I think stock might be your best choice. Some people may cheat and upgrade the cars themselves and then tune them.

Re: Any interest in a possible Clio Cup Championship??
Hmm, I see your point. Maybe only with Front and Rear Wings, Lowered Suspension and race tyres? Would that work? It's just the stock cars maybe a little slow?

I would move away from adjustable bodywork, IF you're trying to run it close to the BTCC Support category

Re: Any interest in a possible Clio Cup Championship??
Hm, Maybe stock is the best way then. It'd be a hell of a lot easier. Alright then, I'll edit the initial post.
Also, there are some mandatory decals which is similar to the TCC championship, so all the competitors would get a pack gifted to them on sign up
