.047 for me, Im impressed I get that close to the time to be honest. Easily adjusted to start a little later for next week.S2M Ranger wrote:lol I win .033sLastNewtStandin wrote:Looking at my replays my jump start was less than .050 of a second
Yeah I don't mind dropping a lobby, Ideally I will get close to the top of any lobby to not get dropped but its hard to tell with so many penalties everywhere. Going to be an exciting Q session next weekBG Smithy wrote:the grid penalty is added onto your qualifying time for Tsukuba.LastNewtStandin wrote:Looking at my replays my jump start was less than .050 of a second. No problem with getting a penalty for it btw, Fairs fair.
Just glad it wasn't the race I won
i.e. you could drop a race lobby
Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion

Nah thats what should happen to the people that drive like crap in the races.MYLES PR0WER wrote:People who jumped the start must race in a public lobby
Bumping people off etc. Jump start is minor compared to constant poor driving

I've been told that in one of the races my start was practically perfect. I stilll haven't looked though

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
We had it that you doen a one lap set the grid, then start the next race and wait for the 20 seconds then go, then race 2 start in lobby points from Q and R1, same again start race and sit on line till 20 seconds, race 3 would be lobbi points from Q, R1 and R2 but grid reversed. Once agian race starts at 20 seconds. Tried this out but the grid just gets so messy by race 3 so we reverted back to Season 7 rulesCQR CHRiS wrote:What changed for the race start procedure rules, just noticed its in red and updated. Dont wanna miss something new to them at Tskuba!

Respect to the guys at TORA for completing what must have been a time consuming aspect of racing on Forza.
Knew I had jumped the start in race 1, think I did better in race 2 but by race 3 was still thinking about race 1 jump start so made sure I started after the green light, doesn't alter what I did at the start of race 1 but made me feel better

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
B-Lobby had 15 racers in 15 different locations seperated by 3000 miles minimum and you guys are telling me that according to your replay made by a machine that has less computing power than my phone, that I jumped the start of race one by .028 seconds and I am to be penalized 5 grid spots for it?
I will bet you a million pounds/euros/dollars in that same replay not one car shows a spec of damage throughout the entire race. Are you going to tell me that not one person made contact with another as well? The replays produced are inaccurate at best, but they are being used to make absolute decisions down to the hundredth of a second.
Check out the replay of the #1 time on Tsukuba in A-Class and tell me how accurate the timing is in these replays.
The fact that you are making absolute decisions down to the hundredth of a second based on these replays is criminal, and I for one do not accept the ruling or the penalties invoked. It is just not right and I will not race again on this site unless it is reversed prior to the next race.
Pardon my rant, but this is unbelievable and makes a great game and great community down right silly IMO.

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
^ Not going to question your decision, only will add that NO sanctioning body in the World has a 100% perfect record on judgement calls. This would include:
NASCAR. FIA, ALMS, LMES, BTCC, DTM, Indycar, NFL, MLB, NBA, FIFA.
The replays are the best source of information pertaining to what happened on track each race. To invalidate them would basically say that the starts are a free for all, and might as well allow anyone to jump as they see fit.

However, each one of those governing bodies has an appeals process with checks and balances.Flyin Mikey J wrote:^ Not going to question your decision, only will add that NO sanctioning body in the World has a 100% perfect record on judgement calls. This would include:

You are absolutely right, and I am not in any way trying to trivialize the work that the stewards do for TORA. They have a thankless job and work very hard to be as fair as possible. I thank them for making the racing here great for the most part. But by making this decision and not allowing any appeal process whatsoever (i.e. say I can produce a replay that shows I did not jump the start) it opens up pandora's box as to how far the Stewards can go without consequence. I am not going to participate in something where I am accused of breaking the rules based on a replay that is proven to be innacurate, where I have no recourse to prove the allegations false. I can find somewhere that will enforce the rules in a more fair and equitable manner.

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
If its appealed it will be looked at and the same verdict will still come up as a steward said to me a jump is a jump regardless of how early it is ,if all drivers on that jump list feel the same way then let's just overturn the decision and everyone can do what the hell they want.

So you are saying the replay produced by each machine will show that I jumped the start and that it is not possible that there is a .028 second difference in either of them. I say you are wrong, but I have no recourse. I will however, bet you 1 Million pounds/euros/dollars that I am right, and I can produce a replay that disputes the findings in the replay looked at by the stewards.

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
Visible damage - more than a certain number of cars in a lobby and cosmetic damage doesn't show for performance reasons.
If anything, someone elses replay 3000 miles away wouldn't show you jumping the start, it would be in your favour.

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
you could be right you could be wrong with that in mind ive removed all jump start penalties as it would not be fair to give one and not the other , so if anyone is intent on jump starting in the next TCC round then by all means crack on as replays that the stewards view cant be accurate enough to justify a penalty.
Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
Why not insist that all competitors save their replays if they wish to appeal?

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
im not submitting the stewards to watch over 300 starts again.
Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
Yes it is for performance reasons, but it makes my point that what you see on screen is not an accurate depiction of what is actually happening in the race. I can also show you instances throughout the race where there is contact that does not actually occur on screen but that you hear and see the results of. The reason for this is that the 15 different streams of the same race do not sync correctly in real time when reproduced in replay. You guys justify it however you want. The fact is that these rulings are being made with inaccurate information and I stand by that statement.TFR Magic wrote:Visible damage - more than a certain number of cars in a lobby and cosmetic damage doesn't show for performance reasons.

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
Thats fine and that is the reason that nobody will serve a penalty.
Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
so you cant appeal to the decision of jump start but now that 1 member is saying he is not going to race, tora is dropping the hole penalty jump system?
That makes absolute no sence....
btw. I also got the penalty.....

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
Penalties will still be handed out to people who jump the start in the TCC or other series.
If this continues to be a major problem with so many people being involved then maybe it will be easier for everyone involved if we simply revert back to the Forza launch system for starting our races.
