I dont see it as moving the goalposts but allowing for the games inaccuracys in the current generation of changing 60fps actual race to a 30fps replay.BG Wumba wrote:As I explained earlier, it is not a 'perfect workaround', it is simply moving the goalposts. All that needs to happen is allowing people to appeal and view their own replay.CQR CHRiS wrote: Worm gave a perfect workaround which can not be altered or launch earlier as this gives a closer accurate reading to the launch time, anyone before that leway is a 100% jump start.

Thanks Duncan.SelectiveRogue wrote:agree no 1 is trolling if the replay are in accurate it needs to be discussed calm and collective which it is no issue
Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
Trolling picture? It was a facepalm. And what exactly was my accusation? Because people are bitching about the rules. And evidently some people are upset about this, hence the resulting discussion and call to change the rules. We are talking hundredths of a second here, is it really so hard to time your start just a tenth or so later.TG Wormburner wrote:Well with the exception of your trolling picture and accusation I think people are having a legitimate discussion about something. I don't believe anyone is upset here. How are you supposed to know the inaccuracy of replays unless informed of them?
So is everyone's penalty being rescinded then? Seems unfair to those who timed their start correctly.

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
Its not about a change in the rules more of a define the rule that is in place. Most of the 24 drivers penalised some will be clear jump starts others will be that tight within .033 that the game will simulate a different scenario to what actually happened as it doesnt know which frame it should be showing.

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
If there is a consensus that the game replay has a margin of error of +/- 0.033s, then, assuming a start time of 02:30.000 how about the following as a guideline for the stewards:
Average human reaction time = 0.215s, 0.100s being a cut off point for reaction versus anticipation of event (link to these figures).
Would it therefore be acceptable for ones own replay to show a "start" time of between or greater than 02:30.067 (02:30.000 + 0.100 - 0.033) and 02:30.182 (02:30.000 + 0.215 - 0.033) and anything between 02:30.067 and 02:29.967 warrants a warning as a potential jump start and anything before 02:29.967 be penalised as a jump start?
This would of course necessitate ALL participants to save their own replay for every race as their only recourse for appeal for a jump start infringement should the need arise, and not having a replay of their own would negate their right to appeal? Just an idea as part of this discussion.

Dont mean to stomp on the conversation but these conversation's are being had by the stewards and staff to come to a 'fair for all' conclusion.

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
Hello all. I am new here i race in virtual motorsport community. I like the touring car style races very much so i signed in, i think it will be fun. The rules are different i like the idea of car builds.
My car choice is the Ford Focus Rs and tried to build but dont know is it good enough.
Is there anyone who has experience with the RS?

Kilroy8 is using a Focus, and getting some decent performance out of it. I'd ask him for tune/build advice.Garmacor wrote:Hello all. I am new here i race in virtual motorsport community. I have the Focus ST. Frankly, I found the Focus RS to be one of the more slower cars, but PLOW tubbi can make anything fast

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
Here's a quick question for the stewards or anyone else who can answer I guess; on Tsukuba pit straight, you can cross the white line with all four wheels just before the finish line and NOT incur a dirty lap penalty but, does this also apply to TORA i.e. will TORA consider this "corner extending" and penalise if done persistently / every lap even though the game itself does not?

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
the track limits are defined by the white lines so having all 4 wheels over these lines is considered not respecting the track limits .
Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
OK, thanks guys. I rarely do put 4 wheels over the line here but did notice that Forza does not dirty lap you, thought I'd check just to be sure.

I thought it was always based on the Forza track limits. So getting a clean lap, despite running wide, is acceptable due to the nature of the circuit. It's a bit of a grey area, like turn 1 at Indianapolis GP.

Erm no, to quote a quote (taken from the TCC Rules and RegulationsKilroy8 wrote:I thought it was always based on the Forza track limits. So getting a clean lap, despite running wide, is acceptable due to the nature of the circuit. It's a bit of a grey area, like turn 1 at Indianapolis GP.
The track limits are determined by the solid white lines either side of the track. At all times, two wheels must remain on this part of the circuit, unless of an occurrence where it is near to impossible to keep two wheels on the track, like avoiding a collision. During a race meeting, each time the track limits are not adhered to, a warning will be given. Each driver are allowed five warnings of all four wheels leaving the track via the inside of a corner, at any part of the circuit. If a sixth and subsequent "corner cutting" occurrences happen within a race meeting, then that driver will lose a position for each corner cut. Again, if a corner is cut to avoid a collision, this would not be given a warning.
The track limits must be adhered to in the event of gaining an advantage whilst having an on-track battle. If a driver overtakes a driver by getting all four wheels off the track, the driver must give that position back before they may continue the race. If the driver which was overtaken backs off heavily either through incident or "mechanical" failure, then the position will not need to be given back.
Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
Posting a Substitution for tonight here, Both Sign up & sign in threads are locked so there is no natural place to post this.
Possibly consider a Subs thread or something?
Also PM sent to Jamie with the sub and signed him on live timing already.
