Re: BTCC 2014
By the way, do they HAVE to fill the remaining 4 seats, are the organisers so keen to see everyone run as 2-Car teams this season?

The seats don't HAVE to be filled in theory but are highly likely to be, especially as most are at teams which are historically more than one car (Motorbase, Speedworks)
Its more trying to keep the grid full for the whole season as Drivers cannot be changed for financial reasons, therefore all of the announced drivers should be financially stable (in theory). Places were priority awarded to teams with a historically strong season long showing and then the rest of the spaces by newer teams.
Re: BTCC 2014
Isn't the second Speed Works car Simon Belchers car which is recieving tec support from Speed Works?

Agree I was at britcar when it happen and was horrific to say the least what any one says Neate is a fighter
Re: BTCC 2014
I was sat right infront of it. My first time at Britcar too!
I agree to an extent the guy is brave to come back but I don't think his BTCC record is a reflection of his accident. He got himself into too many scrapes. Yes he had some bad luck too but a lot of the time he had silly accidents that could have been avoided.
One accident you don't get to see or hear about was the simply enourmous crash he had at Thruxton a couple of years back in Qualifying. It was the same session that Plato and Rob Austin both went off. But Neate's was the worst. He hit the barrier so hard that it moved back and scared the bejeezus out of the marshals sat just behind. The car was destroyed but the tv focus was on Plato who had just spun off at Church and Austin whohad reversed at high speed into my post (a few metres down from Neate.)

Respect Neate for the way he came back to racing after that crash but the incident at brands hatch lost him respect

Belchers car is a satellite team and not Speedworks itself. Although they are receiving support from Speedworks Belchers Handy Motorsport are a separate team, Speedworks still have the space and ability to run a second car (as Belchers is run by Handy Motorsport and not Speedworks). Think More like Honda Yuasa Racing sharing info with Pirtek Racing.
Re: BTCC 2014

Ciscely / WIX Racing have unveiled their 2014 livery tonight and given us our first look at the completed Mercedes A-Class NGTC the Adam Morgan will be driving this season:
Re: BTCC 2014
That looks brilliant. There's going to be about 5,000 replicas in the FM5 TCC

Damn thats some gangsta bodykit if thats the road car!
I was going to have a new A class about 6 months ago, but ended up with something more Powerful, bigger engine and a lot less desirable!!
It's by far the saddest experience I have ever had with a car in my life.. Kids!! they ruin you honest lol!
Re: BTCC 2014
Just ordered my tickets for Croft. £50 for two people, for 3 BTCC races, a whole bunch of support races & great access to the cars & drivers compared to the £200+ just for a grandstand seat for F1, which reminds me I really need to crack on with ordering that, the copse grandstand is already sold out.

Re: BTCC 2014
The Motorbase / Airwaves Racing seat is still undecided and is reportedly down to a choice between Matt Jackson and Tom Onslow-Cole even at this relatively late stage...
http://www.btcccrazy.co.uk/btcc/mat-jackson-still-hopeful-of-2014-seat/
Now personally I'm hoping Jackson gets the nod as he's the faster driver and more importantly the more loyal driver...

VERY glad to see Lea Wood finally getting the chance to step into current machinery! Will be good to see what he can do on a more level playing field.
