im in the low-mid 1.53's around Catalunya

I believe I was in the 52s

Not really ran any laps may get on it tonight if I don't get distracted
When I did a couple think I was in the 53s but that was silverstone tune so maybe a little work required

I think A lobby will be low 51s maybe even into the 50s

Martin want to get a lap time thread up cant at moment as at work!

I fear I may be the whipping boy here. My best lap so far has been 1:56. Averaging 1:57. I have just recently switched to manual and ABS off. Also learning to tune the cars myself at the moment.

Oh well, I'll make up the back of the pack somewhere.

Does manual clutch shifting really make that much of a difference to lap times in Forza. What would say the lap time difference would be, a second, 2 seconds?

Like I said, manual shifting is completely new to me. I drive an automatic in RL (I'm not lazy, lack of left foot dictates I have to) so I've never learning shifting, and when the correct time is to shift up or down. So this is what I'm currently trying to learn but going on to the track. I've never done so many laps just testing settings out up until I joined this.  

It's cool it takes time getting used to it, you can gain about 0.8 to a second a lap time from it, best way to do it is to configure your controller so the A button is the Clutch and hit the upshift/downshift button at the same time, when upshifting keep the throttle on so when you shift the car maintains a high RPM and is quicker than the computer contolled clutch as well

As for TORA we force off automatic and only use manual or manual with clutch

I've taken to manual easier than what I thought I would if I'm honest and I've definitely seen the improvement in my times. Well, on Catalunya anyway. Haven't tried on any other tracks yet as most of my evenings this week have been spent just running test laps.

Myself, I'm running 1:55's at best. Catalunya is not my favourite track (i hate it) but it is a classic.

As for the manual shifting, try it without the clutch, and be patient. When you do start using the clutch, switch the left bumper and X button; this moves the hand brake to the bumper, and the clutch to the X making it easier to shift.

think you mean swapping it so the clutch button is the A button.

If I sign up for this now will I be able to participate at Catalunya, did 5 laps and got 1:57.546, not the quickest guy but I know I can shave 1-1.5 seconds minimum off that as I was down 0.5 seconds in the first sector it's just about pulling that lap together

Did a little more tuning work and a few more laps and got: 1:56.414 btw I don't use clutch

Spent about 2 hours tuning and hot lapping down to 1:55.812

Can I please make suggestion that we don't have races on Easter Sunday in the future?

Yeah Deuce, agreed. Seems like we may have a number of hosting issues tonight as I think all of the staff are away for the Easter break. Hopefully it won't be too much of a problem, but please be aware than help maybe required at short notice tonight for whoever is taking part.

Richy I'll be up for hosting if you need help

u mean half at the WEC, if theres no one around for the lower lobbies, give me a shout and I see wat I can do

Is it definitely still going ahead?

I'm still stuck at Donington, I wont be able to make the race

Easter may drop the number of drivers. Maybe I can get into a higher lobby due to it.
