Re: TORAus StockHatch Series 2 - Discussion
I really want to take part in this series this time round but it's gonna start at half 1 AM my time haha... I'll sign up but I don't expect to make all the meetings lol
Re: TORAus StockHatch Series 2 - Discussion
I can't get the clio to 573 without going over 250 hp and I've run out of ways to make it lighter... Am I doing it wrong?
Re: TORAus StockHatch Series 2 - Discussion
Nope. It's not possible to max out PI and horsepower while minimizing weight. You might be able to hit two of the three, but hardly ever will it be all three. Does that make sense?Mr Driv3 wrote:I can't get the clio to 573 without going over 250 hp and I've run out of ways to make it lighter... Am I doing it wrong?
Re: TORAus StockHatch Series 2 - Discussion
Like Neo said, get as close to 273 as you can, PI isnt the ultomate goal. It's making the cars as even as possible, and finding those few tenths of a second a lap in the tuning. We worked very hard at making sure these cars are competitive. Don't discount the Clio if you can't get to 573.

Maybe Neo can chime in to confirm, but last we discussed, cars must be converted to single turbo if they are NA. Turbo must remain at stock size once converted. All other engine mods are open within the PI, weight, and power restrictions.

Re: TORAus StockHatch Series 2 - Discussion
For conversion from normally aspirated, turbo is to be Street--no upgrade permitted. Otherwise, turbo is stock. No upgrades permitted.MrShannon2U wrote:Flipmode2k wrote:can a stock turbo be upgraded to say street or race?

Re: TORAus StockHatch Series 2 - Discussion
some of us were discussing the aero parts. it says stock hood, stock wing and no forza aero. but also says others are optional. does that mean i can use a body kit?

How do you enforce the rules? Are we going on gentlmen's honor or do I need to submit my tune for inspection?

Re: TORAus StockHatch Series 2 - Discussion
you can share your tune after you do the build, but before you make adjustments. That's cool though, my car's legal (followed the guidelines on the other thread, 250 HP, B-573, weight no less than 2,500, etc.), just wanted to know if you guys wanted me to prove it or not. I'm new to TORA and don't know the standard operating procedures yet.

Re: TORAus StockHatch Series 2 - Discussion
One way the build is enforced is through the lobby settings. The Lobby Settings thread displays how lobbies should be set up. If your car cannot be found using those settings, then it's out of specs and needs to be changed.Chief Tokembowl wrote:How do you enforce the rules? Look, this is a game when all is said and done. At the end of the day, if someone cannot honestly follow the rules--in other words, cheat--to get an edge over the competition, then that person has bigger issues that are beyond this venue.
For the record, no one has been or currently is being accused of such behavior.
Re: TORAus StockHatch Series 2 - Discussion
The answer is no, but that is spelled out explicitly in the Announcement and implicitly in the Build Specs.Chief Tokembowl wrote:one question though, am I allowed to convert my car to be RWD?
Re: TORAus StockHatch Series 2 - Discussion
NOTE: Added "No other conversions permitted" under the CONVERSION section of Car Build Specifications thread.

Cool, sorry didn't read the announcement, just the Specs.Car is better when its FWD anyway, RWD adds 100 lbs.

Agreed, but there's people in this world who would cheat even at CandyLand. Haha. I was just making sure I didn't need to show my build to anybody or anything.

Re: TORAus StockHatch Series 2 - Discussion
I haven't raced a proper SHatch in a few years and looking forward to it tremendously. I go way back with these EZT fellas and is Hella fun. Can't wait until Monday night.
I've chosen the 07 Civic based on that I already have a great livery for it. Also the fact that I only have 3 days to practice and test builds. Hope this will be a viable choice.
Best of luck to every participant.

I'm in the Civic, more for the nostalgia factor than anything. I remember Stockhatch 2 way back when at the IFCA... had some amazing battles with VVV Slim, Chilledheat, and more.
Only car I've gotten to B573 is the Scion, and a lot of people are in that.

Yeah Tyler, the old great awesome IFCA days were epic. Hoping this can capture a bit of that feeling for online racing again.
