TORAus StockHatch Series 2 - Discussion

Great to see F4H Diablo, XessVII, GLR Lothar, and many other familiar faces from the "old days" in the series!  There have been some great "Shatch" races at IFCA and VM!  Great to see Lanrell is registered, also!

Really great to see all those who registered for Series 2!  Hope everyone will be able to make it week in, week out.  But, Reality does seem to creep in once in a while and that is okay.  

Hope everyone has a great time and some epic races!!  

It also appears DTech may not be able to walk away with the Series 2 title!

Damn. You guys are fast. I'm getting 43s, and I know that there are a couple corners where I can pick some time, but I don't know about 4 seconds. Oh well, you gotta face stiff competition to improve, looks like I may have some work to do.

Anyway, on another note, I noticed it seems to be a rule that teams have to run 3 different cars, and I was kind of wondering why that is. I don't think I've ever heard of anything like that before. Mostly teams have to run the same make and model, whether its a real-life racing series or virtual. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with that, it actually doesn't really concern me as I'm a privateer, but I just thought it was odd and I'm curious as to why it was decided that it should be that way.

Did some laps earlier today and gota 39.247 definitely got more time in it. Hoping to get in the high 38's by Monday night.

The reasoning behind running three different cars per team is keeping a level playing field. We put a lot of research and development into making sure the cars were as evenly matched as possible; however, different cars will never be perfectly balanced 100%. This methodology ensures that one team cannot run one car that has proven slightly more effective. It also helps prevent a class-based series from becoming a one make race. I've seen that happen and it's very disappointing, especially when you pick the "wrong" car, haha.

Ok, I can see what you're saying. You basically want to make it more about which team has the best drivers rather than the best cars. I can dig that.

It also helps to insure that all the cars are better represented, rather than having multiple teams all running the same car. Then it just becomes more of a spec race.

Got a little practice in and ended up with a 38.779, for me there is not much else room. Hoping to get that down into the 38.5xx's

So what do you imagine the cut off for the A lobby will be? I'm getting 1:41.889 digging as hard as I possibly can.

A word of wisdom to anyone with HP at 250.  Set up a private lobby with the designated lobby settings to assure your car complies.  Sometimes during the build process, the horsepower is incremented by a percent, not a whole number.   As a result, your horsepower may be a fraction over the maximum permitted.  The only way to know for sure in advance is to set up a lobby as described above in advance.  Better now than just before qualifying.

If you cannot find your car, it's out of compliance and will need to be adjusted to be compliant.

The clio is looking to be kinda underpowered... 10PI less than regulation max (the scion can get there) and 2-3 seconds off pace too. Am I just seriously off-pace or is it the car?

I had a look at building a Clio last night couldn't get the car anywhere near the regulations I managed 250 hp and weight but 50lb/ft of torque down is alot so I just switched car

I've got the clip in the low 39s so it's but in the end decided on the civic because I already had a livery for it.

CBR-1 - Your team registration is incomplete; as a team, each driver must drive a different car
CBR-2 - Your team registration is incomplete; as a team, each driver must drive a different car
CBR-3 - Registered as a team, each driver must drive a different car

Also, Everyone make sure your car will fit the lobby settings. Horsepower is less than or equal to 250. Sometimes it may be a fraction off. Check now before getting into a lobby.

[Censored], thought this was next week. Is it too late to race tonight?

My xbox had a large update today and many things are now wrong with it. I am apparently appearing offline (I am not, checked multiple times in my profile) and Forza is stuck attempting to sync data. I am in and do intend on racing but I don't know if my xbox is willing to allow that to happen.
