Yeah, my biggest issue is gearing I think. I was only able to fit the street trans, so it falls of the power and in some 3rd gear corners. It has great grip even in stock tire width, though. And decent top end.

Yeah. I tried stock trans and upgraded factory engine. Gobs of torque and it just shoots out of the corners like a rocket ship. But with stock trans it redlines in 4th about halfway down the back straight at 135ish mph. No good. Couldn't manage to get the stock engine and street trans to work with the series regulations, so 5.7 LS swap is the way I had to go. Which is a shame because that stock motor is a stump puller.

I couldn't manage to get the 5 speed on there with the stock motor. Its pretty perfect with the LS though, I'm hitting around 155 on the back straight

I had one build that was hitting 158 and still accelerating at the braking point, but it was sketchy on the twisty bits. However, that build could be a beast elsewhere.

Yeah, Road America maybe? I've been working on getting it to hook up on corner exit, while still maintaining good turn in characteristics. It needs more work, but she's getting there.

will we be able to alter our builds for specific tracks as long as the specs are still met?

or is it like the old days where a car would get appoved then nothing could be added/taken away outside of tuning?

You can alter the build as much/often as you want as long as it meets the requirements.

Was messing with the Buick Regal GNX last nite, and it is stock with a turbo. you have to do the 5.7 swap for NA. can barely get it within the required specs. but it ran a 1:35 on ATL on my brief 4 lap test drive. should be competitive with some love.

It is a beast to build within specs, but it has been proven to still be quick. Harmonic set some killer lap times with it in testing last season, and CBR GnS Racing used it, and we had some great battles.

I'm pretty sure there's only one build that fits on the Buick, and it's pretty much a 2 gear setup that sits near the bad end of both the power and weight limits, but it's still a great car if you spend some time with it.

you are right....i think its sitting somewhere at like 415HP and 3187 lbs where i have it.

I forgot to edit it. I got it built with the race springs now. but on 20's and im running 2 seconds slow. I build all cars to see what I like. I don't want to run the Impala again.

On the laptimes post I'm putting up what I'm running with each car. I don't like secrecy.
