Hot Hatch Challenge Discussion
Welcome to the TORA Hot Hatch Challenge Championship Series!
While this is a "new" series for 2018, it's roots go way back to the early years of TORA, as it is an evolution of the production FWD based Touring Car Championship as run on Forza Motorsport 4 up to 2012. Most of the cars and circuits are reminiscent of the TCC/NATCC series of that era.
Enjoy and discuss...

So the formation lap and standing start is still a go? Even with hosts being able to set grids now?

For the time being, yes. Still doing a formation lap, unless it proves to be problematic. One benefit is it would allow all to make sure they can see everyone else on the grid before launching off into turn 1 at race pace.

NOTE: With the new Series Specific Numbering System, and this being a new series, per rule, all numbers are first come first served.
Re: Hot Hatch Challenge Discussion
The '07 Civic needs banning. It's OP and there is already the newer one that can be used. It's just going to be '07 Civic championship. All the other cars are pretty much equal except this Civic

It's not near as OP as some would like to think. I know of a few people who've gotten better laps in a couple other cars than they have the 07. As for the new one, it should be banned for being a steamy pile of .... but I left it on the list so that anyone who has the balls to run it can prove they're as good as they think they are.
Re: Hot Hatch Challenge Discussion
I did some testing of all cars on a few tracks and builds with basic tunes, it was always civic 07, followed closely by mini.

Re: Hot Hatch Challenge Discussion
Build wise, the 07 is the only car you can realistically get close to being 2600 and 300 and 600. I would agree that even before testing that it's OP. Looks can be deceptive though so I'll turn some laps and see what's what.
Re: Hot Hatch Challenge Discussion
Just a couple of quick questions, in going to choose my cars I find the following discrepancies: I cannot buy a 2009 Ford Focus RS, it does not exist in my buy cars, only a 2017 and a 2003 are showing. I went to buy the 2016 Honda Civic Type R and as it sits to purchase in my car dealer stock it has 306 HP which is too much for this series. And I do not have a 2009 MINI John Cooper Works, I only have an option to buy a 2012 version. I don't understand how everyone can test cars I don't even show exist in the game??

The Focus and the Mini are both locked cars and I believe the both of them have shown up in the Specialty Dealer in the pass. The Civic has a homologation restrictor plate since it's too powerful for its own class.

Re: Hot Hatch Challenge Discussion
When you buy the 2016 Honda, buy it homologated, as that way it comes with the restrictor and a few extra bits for no extra charge.
Re: Hot Hatch Challenge Discussion
While I enjoy racing with everyone, I realize there are certain "Rules" that make it more difficult to race with.
"Settings:
- Collisions during all races will be on, and set with Simulation Damage. Driving Line and Normal/Simulation Steering are the only allowed driving aids that may be used. TCS, ABS, STM, Auto-brake and Auto-gears are prohibited. Manual gears must be used but it is up to the competitor if they wish to use the clutch or not."
I would prefer to have "Tire and Fuel" Damage and with my TMX racing wheel, ABS Brakes work much better for me.

I don't think I've ever raced in a TORA series that didn't have sim damage. Definitely would take away from the intensity if you didn't have to worry about tearing up the car. I wouldn't recommend using ABS even if it were allowed, its a lot slower to use that assist. If you tend to mash the brakes too hard and lock up, decrease your brake pressure and it should help.

Bandit is correct, the Focus and Mini were available for a limited time in the specialty dealer, but if you go on to the auction house, you can find plenty for sale.

^ That have both been at the Specialty Dealer twice as of now, and the MINI was a weekly league rewards car at least once as well.
