TORA 24 uren van Spa-Francorchamps - Driver's Briefing and Track Limits
TORA 24 uren van Spa-Francorchamps
In TORA's nearly 12 years of hosting community events, it is not too often that we get to have a first. Ever since Spa-Francorchamps was added to the Forza franchise, people have been asking us to do a Spa 24-Hour race. That day has finally come! For this endurance race, we head to Belgium to the famous Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. Even though Spa might live in the shadow of its French cousin Le Mans, Spa is clearly one of the classic race circuits, and is beloved by drivers and spectators alike, known for its long straights and famous corners such as Eau Rouge and Raidillon.
Qualifying - This will be the typical 1-Hour Endurance Qualifying. Drivers will have 45 minutes to set their fastest clean lap. We will be adding the best qualifying results from each team, so remember that more than one driver has to take part in qualifying. To sign up for qualifying, please use THE QUALIFYING THREAD. Remember that drivers should be/appear online 15 minutes prior to qualifying start, and should keep in-lobby chat to a minimal.
Race - This is a 24 hour Endurance race. Drivers will be competing in 12 stints of two hours each. However, drivers are reminded that the stint actually only lasts 1 hour and 40 minutes. Drivers are reminded that they are to use THE STINT THREAD to assign stints to each of their drivers. You can see the stint schedule on the stint thread. Drivers are expected to be familiar with the rules and regulations come race time, so please review them before August 10th. Drivers are also reminded that they cannot have a driver double stint between stint 6 & 7 and stint 11 & 12.
Pit Stops - Drivers will have to make 2 required pit stops during their stint.
Stint Starting Procedures - Stint 1 will begin with a full warm up lap behind the safety car, at 80 MPH, concluding with the safety car entering the pit lane, and the field proceeding 2x2 at 80 MPH for a standard start. All other lobbies are instructed to start with a typical 80 mph 2x2 Rolling Start. Stint 2 through 12 will be a single file start at 80 MPH, starting as cars pass under the Spa-Francorchamps banner after the first turn as shown below. Remember that drivers are not to accelerate to race pace until THEY pass the designated start point.

Track Limits
We will be using Forza's track limits for this race. Drivers are reminded that they should remain within the white line on either side of the track. This especially includes Eau Rouge and Raidillon.
Drivers are also reminded to exit the pits following the correct line as shown below.
If you are found to be cutting the circuit or failing to exit the pit correctly you will receive a warning for the first offense. Anyone found to be doing this repeatedly will receive anything from a 10,000ft penalty to a Stint DQ depending on the severity.

So what's with this rule? Because obviously noone is adhering to it.
