Re: BTCC 2011
Woohoo!!!
Don't know if anyone else plays Honda - The Grid, but I just came in second place for Knockhill!
Basically, the game gives you a series of questions for each round, and you have to guess the results. You get points for each correct answer, or scored within a range if you are close.
Some of the prizes are great - top player at the end of the season gets a Honda Civic, and a heap of Pioneer goodies. I'm currently 20th, so the win is achievable if I guess well.
But for Knockhill I came second, which means I get two tickets for Rockingham with grid walk access, and a set of Pioneer headphones that sound quite dandy!
Of course, Rockingham would only be about the furthest away track from me...

Re: BTCC 2011
Sounds like they didn't quite think that one through really. Surely worse could only be winning a competition at Sebring to go to the Chinese GP!

Many in the UK tend to forget just how far away the South of England is from the Central Belt..

Re: BTCC 2011
Todays Autosport is reporting that both Techspeed and RML will be running their Super 2000 Cruzes with 2ltr turbo engines next year. The same engine will probably be used in the STCC too with the Swedish team.

Re: BTCC 2011
Yeah, I saw that, to be fair they need to do it, TOCA clearly can't control the parity issues fully. If I were RML/Techspeed/Geoff Steel Racing/ES Racing/WSR, I would be looking for a refund on my entry fees this year.

Anyone got the keys to the padlock on Alan Gow's wallet?
Re: BTCC 2011
so RML will use the 2011 WTCC chassis which is currently the best touring car chassis in the world, so that coupled with the turbo engine for RML and i think they have a great chance of winning the BTCC next year, unless the NGTC cars become too good

Re: BTCC 2011
Bigger brakes, better suspension, chunky tyres.
Dunno if its me being drunk right now or not, but the NGTC cars will be the ones that do well next year!
Plus, TOCA are bound to give them power breaks!

Re: BTCC 2011
I can't wait to see what Team Dynamics come up for the new Civic.
I've always been a fan of the current gen model (and I now own one too), maybe if I win the euromillions rollover I'll buy the S2000/NGTC Civics off them and start my own team!

Re: BTCC 2011
Motorbase are running a third car from Rockingham for Michael Caine - no, not that one, the Porsche Carrera Cup one. Guess they are going for the age-old tactic of running a third car at the end of the season to try and take points from championship competitors, seeing as Jackson is just holding on and no more.

BTCC's first race at Rockingham back in 2003, with the longer layout, Turn 4 banking, and the first chicane.

What made Rob Austin go fastest in FP2? Was it his new rollbars, or was it TOCA?

Re: BTCC 2011
Anyone else see Plato and Neal almost go head to head ding ding style at the end of qualifying?
Neal was pissed! And too right, JP was pushing it over the line at the end.

Re: BTCC 2011
Basically, Quali was Red Flagged after Griffin made a trip through the gravel. Plato was on provisional pole when the red flag came out.
On the restart with three minutes remaining on the clock, Neal was following Plato into the hairpin, and Plato appeared to get on the power late, causing Neal to smash into the back of him, which took Neal out of qualifying. Then, as Plato was coming back into the pits, he deliberately slowed down infront of two other drivers (can't remember who).
Plato got the pole.
Then when they came into the pits Neal and Plato had a discussion, which led to their teams having to hold them both back..

Re: BTCC 2011
Handbags, it would seem. Although it was handbags that cost Neal and Plato £1000 each and got them 3 points on their licence.
More importantly, both have a suspended six-place grid penalty hanging over them now. That could really hurt Neal if he's involved in anything else. Fingers crossed...
And thanks Honda for getting me my tickets today. That's tickets for qualifying some 400 miles away, on the day of the qualy. Sadly the race day tickets are no good to me either. If someone wants to come to my house in Prestwick, then go on to Rockingham for 11am tomorrow, they are welcome to them. They even get you a free grid walk for one of the races.
Although my Pioneer headphones are cool, that makes up for the wasted tickets a bit.

@Scot glad it's not just me who suffers from a crappy post service!
As for the video there, wow, and we thought our in lobby 'discussions' could be childish!
