2011 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship
Perhaps a touring car series that is lesser known, but for this year, the DTC and STCC have joined together to create the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship.
The 2011 driver and team roster is the most impressive in years with factory supported cars (at various levels), such as the Volvo C30, the VW Scirocco and the Chevrolet Cruze. Then there is the very professional BMW teams of Flash Engineering and West Coast Racing. West Coast won last years championship with Richard Göransson, but the STCC is very close as it always is, so it is very hard to predict who will come out on top this year.
There is some (dare I say it) British interest this season with BTCC Champions James Thompson and Colin Turkington driving some very fast machinery, with Thomo in the works Volvo, and Turkington driving the BMW for Flash Engineering. And not forgetting DTC regular Jason Watt!

Re: 2011 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship
Looking forward to this season in the STCC. I follow it from afar through Touring Car Times, and there's race replays available from here - http://svtplay.se/t/103752/stcc - the week following the race. Seems to be a big year for the STCC, with a lot of big name drivers filling out the roster. I'm very much looking forward to it.
Simbin have also announced last week that STCC2 is to be released later this year.

The kind of Slick TV presentation that the BTCC needs! The rotating onboard cam inside the BMW is brilliant.

Re: 2011 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship
Why do the STCC cars just look better than the BTCC cars?
The Flash Engineering cars are the best looking BMW's in Touring Cars.. ever!

Re: 2011 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship
I didn't know those giant sunglasses, were coming back into fashion. Unless they are using some kind of nano technology to make them lighter and stronger.
Re: 2011 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship
STCC2 has just been released (well, 4 days ago) for the PC. It's available on Steam for £13, which includes the STCC 2010 season, the 13 models of cars that ran in it, 6 tracks, and the Camaro Cup support series. It requires Race 07, which is included in the price. On its own, Race 07 is £4 on Steam, a complete bargain.
In fact, I am off to get it.

Re: 2011 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship
STCC2 is worth every penny. I am thoroughly enjoying it.
Also, much preferring the Chevrolet Team Sweden livery to the BTCC and WTCC ones.

Just had a quick glance at the touringcartimes forum and someone suggested that the coverage can be seen here: http://svtplay.se/
however I doubt its going to be in the monarch's monotones.
