Well easy to confuse you haha lots of paint swap indeed. Cant wait
Re: TCC Meeting 4 Discussion Thread - Sunset Club Reverse - 27/09/11
We were thinking of switching to the golf because the civic was useless with the handicap but for some reason we werent allowed to switch without a points dedution and ive had enough of it.

Re: TCC Meeting 4 Discussion Thread - Sunset Club Reverse - 27/09/11
The regulations are clear and have to be followed by all. As it is, I have tried to make exceptions without being unfair to the other teams that followed the rules.
ATR submitted the SEAT Leon Cupra R as their second choice car at the beginning of the season, NOT the Golf. I said that ATR could change to their second choice car unpenalised, and later gave Dan the option of changing to the Golf, but taking a points penalty to both drivers and teams championships.
I have also worked with Dan tonight to change the penalty imposed on the Civic. The Civic will no longer have a 5% grip penalty, but instead will run with a drop of 15PI, making it B435.
Silentalarm, you have the choice of continuing in the Golf as Phenomenal, or joining Dan in the penalised Civic, or if you want to leave the championship, so be it. We'll be sorry to lose you, but it's not the first time people have quit because the rules they agreed to race by aren't to their liking, and we will still race regardless. It'd be better if you were part of that after the performances you've had.

Re: TCC Meeting 4 Discussion Thread - Sunset Club Reverse - 27/09/11
At least it now has been resolved thank goodness. Many thanks Scot for us dealing with this messy situation out. I never doubted you. Well, ok maybe I did. lol
But at least now the Civic has been reduced enough to suit both sides, us at ATR and the rest of the TCC grid. It should in theory now be balanced with this 15 p.i drop.

After hours and hours of testing and re-working the car we are now hitting around 152 on the front straight (started using the clutch today.....no idea it would make me soo much faster). The car is now running some very very tasty times and we are aiming for another steady points taking at tomorrows event.

Finding it very hard to get the balance and build of the car right round here. Don't think this is going to be as strong a showing as I'd have hoped on the back of the last meeting.

Do you need a hand Scot? I'll repay my debt for resolving our Civics by helping with a tune for you. I'm organising an ATR team test before the race so you're more than welcome to join us.

I don't know if it's still the quickest. I doubt it anyway. But the principal of the p.i reduction is to stop the civic having such a huge advantage to balance the field out. The only way to find out properly is at the last round at Sedona Club.

Re: TCC Meeting 4 Discussion Thread - Sunset Club Reverse - 27/09/11
A PI drop of 15 will generally lose a car a few tenths in terms of pace. 435 makes the Civic build very borderline, as it reduces the options available just to get it within the qualifying build regs.
I do not doubt Dan will still be quick in it, but perhaps not so much quicker than the rest of the field.

It was very close though. The build I have is just 5lbs under the maximum weight limit.

Re: TCC Meeting 4 Discussion Thread - Sunset Club Reverse - 27/09/11
There is a good chance that i'll be 'OUT' for tonights race.
Not because the car is struggling, but we've had no internet since yesterday afternoon. And was still off when i left this morning.
Had hoped previous conflict issues would be resolved after setting up a DMZ on the router last week.
Bu**er!

Re: TCC Meeting 4 Discussion Thread - Sunset Club Reverse - 27/09/11
I'm afraid this isn't going to be the Kia's strongest track.
I cannot find any way to get top-end speed out the car, and we're getting eaten alive on the straights. Launch is top notch, acceleration is great, but then we die off as we near 140 and get reeled in and passed stupidly easy.
I think it may be damage limitation for us GRP lads tonight.
