Re: BTCC 2012
It would have been extremely stupid to play the sort of games that were being played at Brands and Donny in THIS weather, good on them.

Re: BTCC 2012
So do we expect a huge pile up in the first corner today.
lol best start enforcing msa race craft rules.
But cant wait also, question which touring car series has world appeal?
for me the new TTA seems to be good step in tcc but then which route would you go down, V8, BTCC, WTCC, STCC, DTM, TAA? Which series is a proper TCC not just tin tops TCC?

Re: BTCC 2012
I'm absolutely skint from my Eurotrip, so I'll have to wait and see if the rest of the family want to go and if they are willing to pay me in.
Hopefully I will be there, the touring cars at Knockhill is a cracking day out, it's a family tradition.

Re: BTCC 2012
Argh, can't wait, Knockhill's always good fun.
Can't wait to see a proper pack of NGTC cars in the flesh. I really loved the Dynojet Avensis last year. Plenty popping and banging!

Re: BTCC 2012
20 Years of BTCC at Knockhill! It's hard to believe that Knockhill is a 'relative' newcomer to the championship, coming in right at the beginning of the super tourer era.

Cleland to demo Cavalier at Knockhill
Scottish touring car legend John Cleland is set to be reunited with his famous Vauxhall Cavalier during Knockhill’s celebratory Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship event next weekend (25/26 August).
This year marks two decades since the spectacular Fife venue first hosted a round of the BTCC back in 1992. The winners were Jeff Allam (Cavalier) and Tim Harvey (BMW).
However, its was Scottish hero Cleland in his Cavalier that the crowds always came out to cheer the most and at next week’s 20th anniversary event he is expected to be reunited with the car for several demonstration laps around the track...

O'Neill in for Knockhill
Paul O’Neill will again replace Tony Hughes in the Speedworks team at Knockhill’s forthcoming round of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (Sat 25/Sun 26 August).
The experienced O’Neill raced its Toyota Avensis at Croft in June and with Hughes unable to commit fully to the Knockhill weekend he is an obvious ‘stand in’.
“We knew some time ago Tony wouldn’t be able to make the Saturday due to prior commitments,” team boss Christian Dick told btcc.net.
“Paul did a great job for us at Croft and took part in our very productive test at Pembrey, plus all the team and kit are going anyway to Knockhill… he was a natural choice and it will be interesting to see how he can go now he’s got the Croft and Pembrey mileage under his belt in the car.”

Re: BTCC 2012
Another nice wee day out at the BTCC. Races 1 and 2 were... processional. But the Scottish Minis certainly made up for it! Race 3 was definitely more entertaining. Got a nice spot down inbetween Duffus and the Chicane. Plenty of sparks from the NGTC cars bottoming out.
Great display of supertourers during lunch. Great free KX. Pens. Hats. The lot.

Re: BTCC 2012
Yeah, great day out, all in all.
Can't be bothered with the Porsches, so avoided them all day. Thoroughly enjoyed the Ginettas (what we saw of them), and while the BTCC races were a bit boring at times, when they kicked off, they kicked off big time.
Watched race one from the outside of Duffus Dip, with a bunch of honking, stinking bikers, so moved to the inside of the track and sat on the hill for race two, opposite the start finish straight. Headed down to the sheds at Clarks for race three, when the rain started briefly, but it didn't last sadly, could have made for a belting end to the day.
Best bit of the day was the Scottish Sports and Saloons. Thought they were brilliant, can't wait to watch them again on the ITV4 recording. The range of cars was brilliant, a Morgan, Capris, AlfaSuds, MkII Escorts, there was an Elan, Marcos Mantis, a mini, and then a gaggle of Triumphs. Thoroughly enjoyed that one, favourite had to be the Talbot Sunbeam that was making cracking progress through the field.
Worst bit of the day was getting out. Left as soon as the last race ended, joined the exit queue, then didn't move as much as an inch for over an hour. Pretty poor. For all that they have made great investment at Knockhill in terms of the parking, they really should have had stewards out at the back of the course controlling traffic out. Wasn't home until nearly 9pm, and that was only because I 'bent' the definition of a 'speed limit.'
