Re: BTCC 2012
Tom Onslow Cole's selling some Thorney gear on eBay at the moment,
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Can-Signed-Tom-Onslow-Cole-BTCC-Thorney-Motorsport-Team-Fleece-LARGE-/270903577966?pt=UK_Sports_Memorabilia_ET&hash=item3f131c8d6e
Possibly racing for Thorney next year if they have a 2nd Insignia??

Re: BTCC 2012
One assumes they have him contracted so he can't leave and join his bossom buddy back at Arena half way through the year!!
Re: BTCC 2012
Sadly, it appears RML are putting their NGTC program on hold for now and looking at running Alex MacDowall in last years Cruze with the TOCA engine. Techspeed will run their Cruze with the TOCA engine too.
More sources are placing Nash with Chilton in the Team Aon Focus for the WTCC too.
Interestingly, Rob Austin has tweeted Colin Turkington to ask him if he wants a drive in one of the Audis - perhaps tongue in cheek, perhaps not...

Re: BTCC 2012
Having looked at that Onslow-Cole auction, that's unlikely to be a link with Thorney. The fleece is old - the Tesco 99 Octane brand has been replaced by Tesco Momentum for a few years.

Re: BTCC 2012
So that's Chevrolet and RML officially withdrawn from the BTCC, announced on the Chevrolet BTCC facebook page.
Disappointing. Cheers Jason.

Re: BTCC 2012
Well, Jason or no Jason, it was bound to happen. It's likely that the RML withdrawal is what caused the move to 888 for Plato.
Me: Not surprised.
And I don't have to eat my hat, which is great!

Re: BTCC 2012
I still believe that Jason defected to 888, given the information that has sifted through. His defection, coupled with Chevrolet's limited budget, led to them scrapping their plans, as RML's efforts were built around Jason. It seems they had serious plans in place to run NGTC, but losing Plato pissed them off and they figured it was time to cut their losses.

Re: BTCC 2012
That would make sense seeing as the rumours pointed towards NGTC rather than a pull out.

Re: BTCC 2012
I disagree, it was great for him to get that win. Rather him than Collard anywya. The way the crowd cheered when he took Plato out was totally worth being there for

Re: BTCC 2012
Can't claim to be a fan of Boardman, but now he's destined for WTCC I can't see where STR's BTCC campaign is going to come from. Be good if they could secure some of that SEAT backing for the BTCC team, but it's unlikely. Shame, the new livery they have is their best yet.

Alex MacDowell has put on his facebook that he was due to test something yesterday but the snow meant it was cancelled. He was a touch pissed off lol.
Re: BTCC 2012
James Nash confirmed with Chilton at Arena for the WTCC. Another big loss, imho.

Re: BTCC 2012
we still have Andrew Jordan tho, he could be a force this year. Plus id rather Paul O'Neill was in the second car instead of Jeff Smith, but Smith still needs time too.
