sooooo, it's on pre-order I think this game is really gonna compliment forza 4 for me. but the magic words for it was.....

TORA Gumball!!!!!!

i just saw the add for horizon on TV, looked pretty epic

Well done Microsoft Games marketing department! Nice to see something a bit more innovative than "lets take out a full page advert in a magazine"!!

Looking forward to getting home and seeing what's in the demo (as I've played the finished game already!! I should be able to say whether it's a fair representation or not (the E3/Britcar/Eurogamer demo most certainly was not))

Im unsure. The game looks ok, sounds im not convinced on, nor am I the physics.
The Mustang race is excellent fun.
Still not going to cancel my pre order, I expect it will be a lot of fun with friends

oh dear t10 its seems the marketing dept did a swell job of making sure people got hyped up about forza horizon.i did download the demo to see if it was any good but oh dear its not as good as i thought,even after seeing the same demo or at least a video of game play showing forza horizon,im disappointed how the demo feels etc.personally i think this game is only good for those who played need for speed or dirt,the car doesnt feel as responsive as i liked and even on the default setting of medium it doesnt feel that challenging,im sure if you set it too hard it probably would be more challenging,even when it goes to night it doesnt feel like it is and you wouldnt see as much if it was dark when driving.also once you have done the races that are in the demo the free roam gets boring as its very limited to where you can go and drive.if i do choose to buy this game it will be so i can get more achievements and more gamer score. this feel like a diet version of forza 4 and also feels like a cross between need for speed and dirt with a dash of forza.i think this game is only good for those fans of NFS and Dirt.i give this demo 1 gameplay 2 audio 2 music 1 the only plus side is that once you have done the first race after the intro video you can turn off the music other than that not a good demo.

ive only played quickly but the time i did play i found it a very poor game , firstly the music is pure pants i turned that straight off also the physics are pants the cars in no way act like they do in forza 4 and with no option to tune i guess most cars will suck .
all assists off or on i cant seem to notice a difference maybe this is a demo fault idk but as it stands im glad i didnt pre order this.

Are you able to change the handling/assist settings in the demo? When I ran it on no assists, sim steering and "insane" AI difficulty, it felt just like FM4 and great fun.

Just a side note, FH is developed by Playground Games, not Turn 10 (although the physics engine etc is basically an evloution of the FM4 one, which T10 did make...).

Only had a brief 30 min test at lunchtime, but very impressed so far - feels like a cross between Dirt 2 and TDU2 but with the Forza 4 physics and graphics engine. Feels very smooth (even though it's 30fps rather than 60fps, it's barely noticeable).

@Chris - yes you can change all the driving options - exactly the same options as Forza 4, even has manual with clutch option and controller dead zone adjustments, identical.

CQR Haburi and CQR CHRiS have been battling it out to get #1 spot in some of the demo rival events, will have a crack at them myself later

Those #1 spots have been improved on also seems the speed trap leaderboards are allready full of glitchers

Cool thanks. I know it's possible in the release version but wasn't sure for the demo. The E3 demo didn't allow much in the way of setting changes.

Interesting/slightly saddening to see the split opinions on the FM.net forums. Some vehement haters and passionate lovers over there!!

Usually I'd be rushing onto XBL to download it.. But I'm actually not bothered.

This... Is.... FANTASTIC

Firstly, to you haterrs out there, just turn the assists off. Trust me. It's still Forza, but you have to note that on some occasions it will feel arcade-y because pretty much all the corners are banked in some way, so it dampens the cornering physics somewhat.

As for the sounds, the music has a definite festival vibe to it. If you don't like the music, just remember that you can change the radio station with the left/right directional buttons. The Horizon Rocks station has some great songs, a lot of which are already on my gaming music playlist

Other things: The damage modelling is a lot better than FM4, too. The visuals remind me of DiRT2, a lot. I'm glad that when you hit traffic you don't obliterate your car. When you're racing, you wear a helmet and gloves... Safety, people! But it does sometimes look like he's naked because of the jacket he's wearing.
