got told the other day that T10 released a video with a heap of info in it and there is going to be NO TUNING in horizon, dunno if i would get it now, but hire it from the video shop and try it out first now...

hmmm hire it and try it out buy it, had this conundrum with halo (yes, I know) at what point do you apply the "bloody games are too expensive" clause of common thinking, add up the money spent on games on your xbox game shelf and you'll see what I mean, this was applied to the Porsche pack and hence why I haven't bought it, hasn't really affected my forza experience, so money saved.
All of this from a die hard forza fan, but I think t10 take their earning potential a bit far.

having seen all of the vids on horizon both official and not it strikes me that they may be taking the game back to pre fm2 but with better graphics, is this a cop out and simply to fund the bonuses for Christmas or is it a true master piece of the likes of Fm2 which even with allof its flaws was and still is my favourite forza to date. Thoughts?

I don't see horizon as a cop out at all.
I suspect they have seen the potential of TDU, combined with the year in year out earning power of some of the need for speed games, and figured they can have a slice of the pie, whilst at the same time doing something a little different, by using the outstanding Forza engine.

It very difficult to view Horizon as a different game from Forza motorsport, but I think thats the best way to do it, try to picture it as seperate from forza entirely.

And then rent it if your'e still unsure

Me? Im preordering the LCE, Im a games whore and theo only other things I spend my free money on are tyres and petrol!

So, if there's no tuning in horizon is it likened to the production lobbies I wonder.Does this mean a level playing field for all which tora puts so much effort into producing whilst offering variety of car choices, may make life a little easier.

I think people are taking this game too seriously, the way i see it, it's going to be a great game, especially for those time when i just can't be arsed to do some serious racing, and just want to cruise around doing whatever the hell i want in a gorgeous red Ferrari!

To be honest, I'm not really fussed if there is gonna be any car set-ups or not. This is gonna be Test Drive Unlimited done properly. Just as long as we can all have fun cruising in a gorgeous car (preferably an Aston! lol).

Forza Horizon I can see as a break from motorsport racing, and for a cruise around. Mark my words though, there WILL be a Gumball TORA event

I agree, this game will be more based around fun and just rallying about, not being uber serious about getting tenths out of a lap time by tuning. I have heard that the cars won't be upgradable either - so no power, handling or cosmetic changes - and that cars won't be able to be painted.

yep look c.a.r.s rfactor 2, sim new racing game our out later this year next year will cover more than your track action until next gen forza 5.

It will be nice to play something different as well.

i guess that's all true, and 1 less thing to worry about i guess, i hope it is still a great game cos i am looking forward to Forza meets open road

Looks like Forza Horizon will have car upgrading and painting, but no tuning. Damage is cosmetic only too. Sounds absolutely fine for a less serious game

Remember there's 65 types of road surface too, including 'off-road' rally roads, gravel etc, so I think it's gonna be more about the freedom and sensation of driving the cars, doesn't need tuning as it's not about laptimes.

Greenawalt said himself that the cars are upgradable and paintable.

I don't understand why everyone's getting whiney about this... With Forza 4 physics, it's the free-roam game everyone's always wanted. It's not going to be as in-depth as TDU2 in terms of actually owning cars (with houses etc), but the racing is going to be like how NFS should be. In my eyes, it's a cross between Forza, NFS/TDU and DiRT2
